Antobot
Providing affordable robotics for sustainable agriculture 🌱
New Year, new project at Antobot! 🍇 🍷
We’re excited to expand our work in viticulture to support the growing UK wine industry through Project VISTA (Vineyard Information System for Technology and Automation).
Funded by Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra)’s Farming Innovation Programme in partnership with Innovate UK’s Transforming Food Production Challenge, VISTA aims to create a highly accurate open-source map of key attributes of vineyards down to individual vines to create a common infrastructure for vineyards across the world.
Antobot will lead map integration with autonomous agri-robots to enable improved yield estimation and precision application of chemicals.
Working alongside brilliant industry and academic partners Outfield Technologies, Ian Beecher-Jones at Jojo's Vineyard and the Digital Vineyard, Vinescapes, Agri-EPI Centre, and University of Lincoln, the Antobot team is “really looking forward to creating a digital friendly vineyard environment to accelerate robotics and provide new tools and capabilities for wine growers.” - Marc Jones, VP-Commercial
Follow us to stay up-to-date and Happy New Year from the team at Antobot! 🎉

New project announcement 📢📢
We’re thrilled to announce our exciting new 3-year project AREA-H (Accelerating Robotics and Embedding Autonomy in Horticulture).
Bringing together world leading experts in AI and embedded controls, robotic strawberry harvesting, horticulture growing systems and autonomous operation research.
The UK horticulture sector is facing huge challenges. Autonomous robotics has the potential to transform the industry but with each farm possessing unique, challenging and changeable environments, robotics need to be able to operate in narrow, GPS-limited areas, safely alongside vital human workers.
Through the AREA-H project, Antobot and its partners will develop a horticulture-specific robotics support system to provide robust navigation using low-cost sensors, increased safety alongside human workers, and integration with existing and new infrastructure to future-proof horticulture businesses.
The collaboration includes Dogtooth Technologies, experts in state-of-the-art fruit-picking robots, Loughborough University's Centre for Autonomous System, renowned for their expertise in autonomous robotics, Haygrove, a leading provider of horticulture infrastructure, and Clock House Farm, a pioneering British soft-fruit grower.
The project is funded by the UK government's Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) (Defra) through the Farming Futures Automation and Robotics competition. The funding is part of Defra's Farming Innovation Programme, delivered in partnership with Innovate UK's Transforming Food Production Challenge.
We are honoured to lead this project and work with such an innovative and sector-leading consortium. We would like to extend our gratitude to our partners, Dogtooth Technologies, Haygrove, Loughborough University, and Clock House Farm, for joining us on this incredible journey. 🍓
We look forward to collaborating with our partners and together pushing the boundaries of horticulture autonomy, providing growers with cost-effective, capable, and reliable solutions.

It’s another ! With strawberries red and ready to harvest, we are collecting data to deliver real-time yield from farm to phone using Insight!
Marking the start of the 2023 season, the team went to Place UK Ltd as part of our Innovate UK funded Project Insight with University of Essex, University of Bedfordshire and Agri-EPI Centre.
Bring on the British summertime and strawberries for the Coronation! 🍓👑
It’s been brilliant working with Ian Beecher Jones and the team at Agri-EPI Centre on mapping vineyards for Project Vine!
Having accurate open source digital infrastructure for farms is a vital building block for innovation so we’re excited to see where this goes next 🍇
Something a bit different for this with a snapshot of our recent visit to the new indoor growing system and the tallest we have ever seen at Clock House Farm🌲
We also coincided with a visit from a local primary school where children are being taught all about where their food on the supermarket shelf comes from – showing the importance of and the innovation happening in British farming!
Strawberry growers are gearing up for the 2023 season and so are we! 🍓
Check out the view from our eye in the sky of our recent tests at Tiptree as an early post. We’re working on something 👀
Hope everyone has a great 🐣
Our VP commercial Marc Jones was honoured to speak about Antobot at the recent Department for Business and Trade 'Game-Changing Technology in Agriculture' conference in London 🌿
It was great to meet industry, government and trade delegates from around the world to discuss the future of and how innovative UK companies can play their part.
Good to catch-up with Agri-EPI Centre, Crop Health & Protection - CHAP and Agri-TechE (thanks for the photo!)
This check out our Mechanical and Electrical Apprentice, Ella, on her piece on promoting Women in STEM with the team at Arise Innovation Hubs 🚀
We’re proud to have 7/13 UK team members at Antobot identifying as women, particularly as we sit in between Agriculture and Technology, both historically male-dominated industries.
In fact, Did You Know:
➡️ only 23% of countries have equal laws on land ownership for men and women (Stand for Her Land)
➡️ only 26% of the tech sector is made up of women (Tech Nation)
We are looking forward to supporting our current team and hiring more women in leadership with us as we grow but we would love to see more in the UK and beyond.
If anyone would like to chat to the team at Antobot about this you can email us at [email protected] with “IWD”
