I’ve had a nice little run at Mulberry House recently, and today that comes to and end (for three weeks at least) and we’ve had all seasons, but thankfully, the last few weeks have been incredible. See you in September :)

So yesterday was fun… I always like to try and create something more stylish than just a ‘stand there in I line’ type group shot… if we have the time, of course :)

Sometimes, especially in the summer, I suffer for my art… but then once I’m done, I thank science for inventing Benadryl.

Afternoon… it’s been a while. I’ve been posting on my stories more and more, I keep neglecting my grid.
Do people even view the grid anymore?

18 years ago today, we registered as a company, to prove my old boss of two years wrong.
It was the best thing I’ve ever done… on both parts 🙂
Thanks for sharing this crazy ride with me ✌🏻
We can’t always promise a ‘golden hour’ at weddings, but if one doesn’t appear, we’ll always try and give you something between the meal and evening reception. Taken on location at •

In a bid to keep up and appeal to more clients, we’ll be adding fine art water colour wall art to our coverages. So rather than photograph, we’ll DRAW your wedding! Stay tuned!
Sometimes, it’s good to become the student again, and I had the opportunity to last week at in London so I can practice my craft for my client this year.
I can’t thank the team at The Photography Farm for letting me tag along.

Central London weddings are just the best thing. As much as I enjoy a good stately home or castle, there really is something incredible with the urban architecture the really ticks my boxes •

I did a live interview today on BBC News on some of the challenges we face at photographers in some churches.
To be fair, the vast majority I work im welcomed with open arms, but some are less than welcoming.

This is real, and happens way more than it should.
If you've been speaking to us about your wedding, and after you decided to go in a differnet direction for whatever reason, that's totally fine, but please drop us an email to say - we won't be offended.
Peace.
❓Have you ever inadvertently forgotten to reply to a wedding supplier that you reached out to for information or a quotation?
I want ti be honest; of late, I’ve had so many colleagues in the wedding industry share their experiences of being ‘ghosted’ after responding to enquiries or providing quotes in the past few weeks.
🫶 Tonight, I’d like to gently remind everyone: if you’re reaching out to suppliers or indeed venues for information and quotes for your wedding, *please* don’t leave them in the dark. If the quote isn’t right for you, if you’ve chosen another supplier/venue, or if you’re not able or ready to commit or even if you’ve simply changed your mind — just let them know. It’s a sign of respect and courtesy during your wedding planning.
Remember, the suppliers you’re contacting are often small businesses for whom every client counts. The start of 2024 has been challenging for many in our field, and we’re all feeling the pinch from the cost of living and rising expenses. That’s why it’s vital for these entrepreneurs to be able to forecast their earnings accurately. It’s more than just courtesy; it’s essential for their sustainability — I can’t emphasise this enough.
If you’ve recently asked for a quote from any wedding service provider, please extend them the courtesy of a response once they get back to you. A simple acknowledgment like ‘Thank you, but we’ve decided to go in a different direction,’ or ‘Your work is wonderful, but unfortunately, it’s out of our budget at the moment,’ goes a long, long way. They will completely understand, I promise you.
Also, bear in mind that if another client is ready to book on the spot, a supplier may not be able to hold your date indefinitely.
It’s OK to say ‘No, thank you’ - but it’s really not OK to ghost. Let’s practice kindness and empathy towards the dedicated network of small, creative businesses in our wedding industry. No more ghosting, please! ❌👻
Sending much gratitude to all you lovers - thank you for your understanding 🙏🫶😘

Tip 2: All about DJ
People generally remember three things about a good wedding, the food, the weather and how good the party was, and a good party needs a good DJ, just like our friends at , and here’s what they have to say;
“Music comes into all parts of your day and adds to the atmosphere & creates memories. Consider having ourselves look after you through your ceremony & meal. With us on hand to do your ceremony & meal music, we work seamlessly so you can relax & enjoy every special moment of your day, knowing that your music and hosting is covered.”
Happy Sunday :)
Sometimes, it’s the simple things that are the most effective.

And just like that, we wrapped up 2023 today at Down Hall with a micro wedding with just nine people: I was given time and the opportunity to create with so few people and it was amazing. Not much good came out of Covid, but the acceptance of smaller weddings, in our opinion, is a great thing. •
