💜 MY NAILS 💜

Finally got around to doing my own nails! I wanted to have them done before having a mini maternity photo session on Sunday! I'd had my toes done a few days earlier and managed to manage to match the colour perfectly. Of course I had to add some foil as it's absolute fave! These are short round Gelish soft gel tips with with INK LONDON rose gold foil. These full cover tips are a game changer if you want extensions and especially for me as they are the perfect length and shape so they save so much time.

A full set of soft gel extensions (including full cuticle work) with single colour gel polish are £35. I do charge extra for French polish or any nail art.

💜 REDUCED HOURS 💜

I have now booked on to a pregnancy yoga class on a Monday so I've had to reduce my working hours to accommodate.

I have very limited Wednesday evenings available until the end of July. In August, when I am exclusively working from home I may be able to do evening appointments on other days.

If you require evening appointments please get in touch ASAP to book in.


 

💜 UPDATE 💜

I am starting to be a bit slower with setting up and packing away so please allow a little extra time for appointments.

I will not be offering Friday night appointments from now on (existing appointments will be honoured) so if you need an evening appointment it will just be Mondays and Wednesdays available. Please get in touch ASAP to book these slots.

I plan to take the full 9 months off for maternity leave but may start earlier depending on how I get on. I also found out I can do KIT (keeping in touch) days so I hope to be able to offer treatments before Christmas. These will almost certainly need to be at my house so I can stay with the baby as I will be exclusively breastfeeding.

I have used this colour so many times in the last couple of weeks! It hardly ever happens that a particular colour is used regularly in a short space of time but everyone is loving

Hey everyone! I have now sent out the email with my plans for bookings leading up to my maternity leave, which will begin on Friday 30th August 2024.

If you have not received this email by tomorrow, then message me as I might not have your email address in my booking system.

I really hope to see as many of you as I can manage before the baby is born!

I have recently found out that I am able to have KIT (keeping in touch) days during my maternity leave, so if you have a special occasion from December onwards, I may be able to help.

I will post soon about therapists I would recommend using whilst I'm unavailable.


 

💜 11 YEARS IN BUSINESS 💜

It's a day late but my little business has been going for 11 years! When I qualified in beauty therapy 17 years ago I could never have dreamed I would create a business that would be successful for so long!

I spent a few years dabbling in admin roles alongside doing treatments for family and friends and had a gap year to travel to Australia and New Zealand. I started up doing beauty again officially alongside a full-time job and after 18 months of exhaustion and building up a client base I was able to quit my job and become fully self-employed. I have never looked back!

Over the last 11 years, I have completed many extra training courses and even helped teach a few budding beauty therapists. I would love to go back to teaching at some point as I found it so rewarding and it kept my knowledge up to date.

My job has brought me some amazing clients, some that have become great friends. I thank every single person who has ever had a treatment with me over the years! I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for your continued support!

I don't charge extra to choose a selection of colours for your manicure so why not mix it up for your next appointment?

Loved doing this set for a client off on a cruise to the Norweigan Fjords!

I do also offer nail art (at an extra cost) so if you find some ideas I can see if I can help and work out a price in advance.

💜 NO INCREASE BEFORE MY MATERNITY LEAVE 💜

You may have noticed lots of nail techs joining in with a national price increase organised by The Nail Tech Org on 8th April. Whilst I fully support this movement and any nail techs involved I will not be increasing my prices.

As I will be going on maternity leave from around the end of August (my plans for reducing treatments/mobile appointments will be announced around May time as I will see how I'm getting on) it is not something I feel is appropriate at this time. It is likely though, that when I return from maternity leave next year I will then need to increase my prices and will give notice to clients accordingly.

For now, I'm continuing my eco-friendly practises of using washable items where possible, reducing waste, being economical with product use and trying to get clients that live near each other booked back to back to save on fuel and emissions.

The prices shown are my current prices. I don't charge extra for basic glitter added but there is a charge for nail art and any nail extensions needed to fix a broken nail. I offer free fixes if I am notified within 7 days of application but you would need to come to me for this unless I happen to be at another client near you.

During and after of an eyelash tint, eyebrow tint and eyebrow wax. This client does have semi permanant makeup on her brows too but the hairs still need a tint as she is naturally platinum blonde! It's always a particularly satisfying treatment to carry out on her as its such a change. This package is currently £25 (saving of £7) and requires a patch test 48 hours before the treatment.

I did these nails back in September and only just getting around to posting! These had builder gel on but the client didn't want them infilled so I just removed the lifting and applied some structure gel before the colour.
