Another year of making breakfast for the fabulous people who braved the sea at sunrise for the #NorthEastSkinnyDip2024 . Setting up a beach kitchen on Saturday, camping a few hours, cooking by headtorch from 4am, and then loading it all onto a van again... it is all a mighty effort and a lot of hard work. An amazing volunteer team once again this year, including those meeting us back at the cafe to wash up and clean the sand off everything so that the campers could get to a shower and nap. THANK YOU @northeastskinny for an amazing event once again, for all who bought breakfasts from us and dipped to raise money for mental health charities.

Paul has volunteered with us for one year this month! Paul is one of our hardest working volunteers and volunteers 3 times a week if not more. Paul spends his days in the dish washing room and is affectionately nicknamed 'Pot Wash Paul' due to how much he loves being in there. Paul is great at supporting other volunteers and often remarks that volunteering here is the 'best thing he's ever done'. Paul has become a staple part of Refuse and the cafe wouldn't be the same without him. Paul brings a smile to everyone's face. We love you Paul! (Paul was very nervous to make his first reel 🙈).

Christmas Day with REfUSE and Handcrafted! Well over 100 Christmas dinners with all the trimmings, quizzes, games, carols, a visit from Santa and everyone with presents and big bags of food to take home. A wonderful day was had! It all got a bit busy, photography wasn't the priority, so these few clips are just from the start of the day! Huge thank you to all who contributed in any way: donations, help wrapping presents, food preparation, and of course all the helpers on the day - drivers, washer-uppers, servers, singers and welcomers.
