New date for the diary, Wednesday 18th September we are holding a first aid awareness session 6pm to 8pm this will include CPR and defibrillator interactive simulation. We have limited spaces, over 16s only £5.00 per person which includes tea, coffee and biscuits. You will need to wear comfy clothing and be able to kneal on the floor. This is being run by a professional trainer. If we are over subscribed we will run further sessions in either October or November. Would like to say a mahoosive thank you to all of you who came to our curry and quiz night last night, very successful evening and special thanks to Madhu Walker as our fantastic chef for the night, to Steve Farmer for being our excellent quiz master, and to our brainy quiz setter, Pat Blazedell. Hello people, following on from my previous post regarding the curry and quiz night on 23rd March 2024, tickets will be £10 per person and this will include your supper, a choice from 2 different types of curry (vegetarian or chicken) plus sides. There will be a cash bar, raffle and quiz prizes. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start and tickets are available from the following committee members - Penny 01829 250220, Pat 01829 250073 and Jill 01829 250471. Maximum team of 8 people if you wish to reserve a full table or you can share another table with less team members. You can also reserve and pay for tickets with myself if you happen to see me in the pub 😁 look forward to seeing you all, and of course we have secured our excellent quiz master, Steve Farmer again. There will be a list of ingredients in the curries and sides for those with any allergies, but please be mindful if you have a serious allergy you may need to check prior to the evening. Thank you 👍

Thank you to everyone that came to our Chilli & Quiz night at Tilston War Memorial Hall last night, I think it was enjoyed by all 👍👏 special thanks must go to Patricia Blazdell who put an excellent quiz together and did most of the organising, also huge shout out to Steve Farmer and Jill Farmer for the cooking of most of the chilli and a special thanks to Steve Farmer for being an excellent quiz master and keeping the evening going so smoothly and for all those helpers behind the scenes and raffle prize donations, great evening all round and hopefully we raised some money towards ongoing improvements to the hall, thanks again, and watch out for our next event which will be a comedy and curry night in March 2024 👍👍👍

One of our worthy winners of the "cake for the King " at the Coronation celebration 💜 not only did she win Star Baker she also donated her cake to the cake stall so that guests could enjoy a slice, what a lovely gesture from a beautiful little girl 💜 well done 👏👏👏👏👏

Would just like to say thank you to everyone who came to the Coronation tea yesterday, everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves but a special thank you must go to all the groups that made the event possible, Tilston Parish Council for hosting, Tilston Wakes, Tilston Playing Field Association, St Mary's Church, The Carden Arms for their generous donation and Tilston Village shop for switching on the tree lights. All the volunteers from these groups worked so hard and of course our own volunteers from Tilston War Memorial Hall plus all spouses, children. Well done to the winners of the cake and crown competitions 👏👏Thank you all so much. Please keep your eyes out for upcoming events.

Big shout out to the residents of Tilston and surrounding areas, come along to the Coronation of The King for free afternoon tea and cakes at Tilston War Memorial Hall on Saturday 6th May starting at 2pm until 6pm, lots of activities for the children, best cake competition for adults and kids, best crown competition for the kids under 7s and 8-12s bar for the adults at cost and screening of the Coronation. No need to worry if the weather isn't so good as all under cover. So please come along for this village celebration 👑👑👑🎂🥂 looking forward to seeing you all 🙏 thank you 💋

Coronation competition 🎂👑 the theme for the cake competition is "cake for the King" all entries must be brought to the hall for judging by 1.30 on Coronation day and you will be asked to complete an entry form with your details, this will be for both children and adult entries. The children's best crown competition will also need to be brought to the hall by 1.30pm on Coronation day, again an entry form will need to be completed for both age categories (under 7s and 7-12) age groups. Good luck to all entrants and prizes will be given to each best entry. 👍

Don't forget to save the date for King Charles' Coronation celebration in Tilston War Memorial Hall on Saturday 6th May 2pm till 6pm. Tea, coffee, cakes and scones provided which has been sponsored by Tilston Parish Council, Tilston War Memorial Hall, The Tilston Wakes, The Playing Field Association, Tilston Church and not forgetting The Carden Arms. There will be prizes for best Coronation Cake for both junior and adult winners, prizes for best children's Coronation crown, under 7s and 7 to 12 ages winners, plus children's colouring. The Coronation itself will be screened on a loop for everyone who wants to watch this historic event. There will also be a cash bar available for the adults to enjoy a tipple and raise a toast to our King. There may also be a little keepsake for all attending children, so please come along and support this village event. Let's hope the weather will be good, but not to worry if not as all activities are under cover inside the hall and under the marquee. Welcome to the newly created Tilston War Memorial Hall page, the page is still under construction but we look forward to hearing from you with your event and booking requirements. Prices for hire are £18/hour with full kitchen, bar, stage and lighting. £20 for alcohol licence. Children's parties can be held for as little as £60 for 4 hours hire.
