Yesterday, we hosted Dishley Rangers, a team who'd only lost 1 game this season in all competitions.

Both teams created opportunities early on, and the away side were unlucky not to go in front from an effort hitting the inside of the post and somehow not going in. Our pressure finally paid off with a Davies delivery from deep, which got flicked on by a dishley centre back, which flew over his keeper to make it 1-0 to the hosts.

The 2nd was a wonder strike from Captain Morgan Brown, who struck one from the outside of the box and flew into the top corner...epic scenes 2-0.

After that, we squandered opportunities to increase our lead and once again had the woodwork to thank as Dishley almost pulled a goal back with a cracking freekick smashing against the bar.

Despite being 2-0 at half time, it was a little overshadowed, unfortunately, as we lost Matty Turner on 35 minutes, who landed heavily from a challenge and has a suspected broken collarbone 2-0 HT.

In the second half, we started well and carried the momentum on for the next 45 and never looked in much threat as we battled through. Goal number 3 came from Brown this time following up well after a good long-range effort from Martindale wasn't dealt with by the keeper. 3-0.

Goal number 4 was a collectors item as David Ciarkowski struck an inch perfect half volley from 35 yards, which flew into the top corner, an absolute worldie!!! 4-0 FT.

A comfortable win for us Sunday as we returned to league action at home to Bagworth Athletic Reserves. It should of been a lot more but we got the 3 points and manged to get a game In despite the poor weather conditions leading up to the weekend.

A Goal each for Davies,Gittings, Brown and Willoughby aswell as back to back league clean sheets with the same scoreline of 4-0.

This up and coming sunday we host Dishley Rangers, usual 10:30 kick off time.

13/11/2023

Yesterday, we disappointingly exited the county cup.

A game we never really got out of first gear and found it difficult to adapt to the poor conditions.

The away side struck early through a quick but simple counterattack, which we failed to deal with 0-1.
The lead didn't last too long as we were awarded a penalty after Brown was bundled to the floor entering the penalty area, Draycott calmly took advantage from the spot 1-1. Clarendon wasted numerous chances and failed to retake the lead despite being on top. Our best effort was a well taken, long-range effort from Ciarkowski, which struck the crossbar. 1-1 HT.

The second half wasn't too different from the first with Clarendon creating the better opportunities and it finally paid off with a possible dubious offside goal (it wouldn't be sunday league without a controversial goal) getting tapped home after a keenan save. The goal stood 1-2.

We did finally crank it up for the last 10 minutes and came close to getting a last gasp equaliser with Brown's header agonisingly going inches wide just before the final whistle was blown FT 1-2.

It was a game to forget but also a game to learn from. The away side wanted it more and deservedly got the win.

Next week, we look to bounce back with a win as we host Bagworth Athletic Reserves. We go again!!!!

Take 2 🎬

After last week's postponement in the County Cup, the fixture and venue automatically get reversed the following week, so this week we'l host Clarendon Park as we look to book our place into the 3rd round.

With it being remembrance sunday, kick-off will be later than usual at 11:05 as we pay our respects for those who lost their lives fighting for what we have today.

All support is welcome, The club house and bar also open from 12 and will be showing all televised live sports.

03/11/2023

After our dramatic win on penalties in the last round, this time we take to the road where we travel to Braunstone as we take on Clarendon Park in the 2nd round of the county cup.

A convincing 4-0 win last week should give us a big confidence boost going into the tie.

Kick off is the usual time 10:30. The venue is the Leicester city cleaners ground just past GNGs ground. LE3 2DG. All support is welcome.

Today, we travelled to Winstanley College to take on Braunstone United 2016.

A late change in kit on the morning saw us wear a red retro kit kindly provided by local side Sporting Dynamo.

Despite squandering chance after chance, we deservedly came through and won the tie 4 goals to nil.

Goal number one came from Draycott, who smashed home a loose ball that fell to him inside the penalty area. Captain Brown then added our 2nd, who finished from close range after diverting a Martindale effort home. 2-0 HT.

In the 2nd half, we stepped off the gas a little but still had plenty of chances to add to the scoreline. Our 3rd was neatly finished by winger Davies, who got on the end of a Draycott cross/shot.

Number 4 was converted from the penalty spot with Draycott, who was never in doubt after Brown had been taken out by the opposing rushing keeper.

It was a solid win and our first clean sheet for the season and a nice way to go into next week's county cup tie.

A well-deserved 3 points today to start the season off.

A dominant first-half display had us 2-0 up at half time, with goals from Draycott from the penalty spot who converted well after Marston was bundled to the floor. Our 2nd came through the 'Tandoori sizzler' Ditta, who headed home from a well taken corner from Davies.

The 2nd half the away side came out with alot more intent and pulled one back straight the way then equalised not too long later, 2-2. We then finally woke up and started to create chances with Draycott hitting the bar and other chances squandered. The only real threat the home team had other the goals was a low down effort with keenan superbly got down to and put behind for a corner.
With the game coming to an end, it almost looked like it was going to be a point each but Debutant Aden Bates had other ideas with a brilliant solo run from centre back bundling it through before laying it off to Turner who finished well. 3-2.

A good season opener to the season in extreme heat and an awful farmers field like pitch. Everyone put in a good shift and thanks to the travelling fans 👥️👤👥️👤👥️👤

New season and we're looking to add new players...

10th season as a club so let's make it one to remember 💙⚽️🦊

07/06/2023

Newstock Rangers class of 22/23

Last week saw the end of a long season of ups and downs.

Despite a poor end to the season, we still ended up with 9 wins and 2 draws on the board for our first team.

The development squad endured a tough first season together but did manage to make it to a semi-final.

Thanks to everybody who took part and supported throughout.

We'd like to thank our sponsors, once again Midland lift services for their 3rd consecutive season of sponsoring our home kit and MVS (motor vehicle specialists) who generously sponsored our new first team away kit.

We'd also like to thank Barlestone St Giles football club for once again letting us use their ground and facilities.

Finalllllly, good luck to Owen Allen and Rhys Johnson, who will be moving to Canada in the up and coming weeks. Cheers for the memories, guys. We wish you all the best.

Next season will be our TENTH season as a club, and we will be looking to not only add but strengthen both squads. Anyone who who is interested in playing or helping out on the side lines or behind the scenes is more than welcome to come on board.

Away day/Cup game for our first team Tomorrow as we Travel to Aylestone where we face Aylestone St James in the 1st round of the Stokes Cup.

Hopefully it will be the start of a good cup run.
If scores are level it will go to extra time then penalties.

08/01/2023

A perfect start for our first team to 2023 as we deservedly beat North Kilwoth 2 goals to nil.

A top performance by everyone, who were forced to dig deep but finally got the break through from a Johnson header from a well flighted freekick from Brown.

The second goal came shortly after as Johnson scored his second following up a Martindale shot which had struck the post.

The action didn't end there as the oppositions heads started to go and led to a 22 man brawl after a altercation between the North Kilworth keeper and Johnson.

A game where everyone battled to the end and got stuck in when needed in boggy conditions, Great performance all round!

Man of the match: 'Crabby' Kris Draycott who was solid in the centre of the park tirelessly breaking up play, winning tackles and headers all game.

Better late than never...(3 weeks late)

Glen Marston collecting his man of the match award for his performance against FC Burbage which unfortunately we somehow lost (not bitter about it at all) 3-2.

The aging winger got both goals before having to be subbed after gassing out early into the 2nd half.

A vintage performance from the left winger/left back.

After last weeks undeserved and schock defeat away to FC Burbage we got back to winning ways with a 4-2 Victory at home to AFC Beaumont youth 2013.

Less said about the development team this week the better as they lost 11-1 to Braunstone united 2016...Rome wasn't built in a day.

Just over a month ago we went international (wales) and took on Rhyl Wanderers in our end of season tour match, A great weekend away with some top lads. Unfortunately we got battered 8-2 with the amount of alcohol consumed on the Friday I'm surprised we lasted 90 minutes!

Photos from Newstock Rangers F.C's post 08/06/2022

This Friday we travel to the North West and will be crossing over the Welsh border and setting up our training camp in Rhyl.

A couple of shandies and in bed by 8pm ready to take on The mighty Rhyl Wanderers in Prestatyn for the world famous Sunday League champions of Britain Cup.

After that we'l be watching the clips over and over whilst relaxing on the beach sipping on OJ's making the most of the Welsh seaside and tourist attractions. A few meet and greets with autograph signings for the fans on the Sunday before we come home to a parade at Barlestone St Giles FC.

Rumours has it that Harry Lear has made a late dash to Peterborough to get his passport renewed. Whilst Nick Costello couldn't make it as the change of water would upset his stomach.
