Ladies, I am really struggling with no shows and late cancellations lately. I know there is a lot of sickness going around but for example in this last week I woke up to a full day of Cancellations, literally every single appt that day cancelled and on the day of their appointments so less than 24 hours notice. I have found this last few weeks absolutely draining as people don't realise how much pressure this puts on small businesses. So, just a reminder that this is absolutely necessary for me to continue, there is a 50% charge of all treatments missed or late cancelled. This isn't greed or trying to make a profit out of what seems like a free space, this is to cover rent, gas electric etc all of which still has to be paid if you don't show for your appointments so please understand this.

This is more commonly known as 'Botox' injections.

So what is 'botox'?

💫Botox is a brand name for a toxin made by the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. There are other brands including Azzalure and Bocouture

What is botox used for?

💫In cosmetic terms botulinum toxin is used to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles. But there are many other medical uses also including for chronic migraines, overactive bladder and eye problems.

How does the treatment work?

💫The toxin blocks the signals going from the nerve to the muscle, meaning for a temporary amount of time the muscle can't contract.

💫It is important to note here that as it is preventing the muscle contracting it is softening lines that would be described as dynamic, as in they are created usually when the muscle moves. This means that static lines which are lines present at rest will not be removed by this treatment.

How is the procedure carried out?

💫This is a quick procedure, a small needle is used to inject the toxin into specific muscles with only minor discomfort

Are there any risks or side effects?

💫As with any cosmetic or medical procedure there are always risks but these risks are low if carried out by a well trained professional and this will all be discussed prior to any treatment.

💫Minor risks /side effects include bruising, redness at injection site. More major risks include true eyelid drooping.

How long does it take to work?

💫It generally takes 7-14 days to take full effect

How long does it last?

💫 This is an important one and it varies very much between individuals. The effects last often between 3-6 months. Muscle action will slowly return sometimes starting around 6-8 weeks after treatment.

💫Regular treatments for the first few times to reduce muscle strengthis recommended but it is very important not to lose muscle action completely this is why we try to encourage that some movement even after treatment is a good thing and can give a more natural result. Repeated treatments can over time make wrinkles seem less severe and the effect lasts a bit longer.
