Premature or low birthweight baby? Download our free booklet, written in collaboration with Bliss and Twins Trust . This resource is for babies born before 37 weeks of pregnancy or who weighed less than 5½lb at birth because they are at greater risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). However, following safer sleep advice can greatly lower this risk. 🔗Link in bio.
Babies that get too hot have a greater chance of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) so here are our top tips for keeping your baby cool:
-
☀️ Use lightweight bedding and clothing
☀️ Wear fewer layers (even just a nappy if it’s very hot)
☀️ Open the doors and windows (if it’s safe)
☀️ Baby sleep bags have guidance on which tog to use for each season
☀️ Cool the room with a fan (point it away from baby)
☀️ Keep the curtains closed in the daytime
