Today is World's Mental Health Day and a great opportunity to raise awareness. I wanted to re-introduce myself so you know more about me.
My name is Kacey. I have battled with anxiety, depression, and PTSD for many years. I've also had some seriously dark moments, so I know the importance of mental health.
I remember waking up one morning and just feeling hopeless. I felt more ashamed I didn't do anything to help myself and pick up these signals sooner. Having experienced poor mental health first-hand, I had never felt so alone in my entire life. It doesn't matter who is in your life, whether it's family, friends or a partner, you can still feel lonely.
Today is a reminder of where I was and where I am now. I am proud of how far I have come and the internal battles I have faced and overcome. Being raised in a south Asian community, mental health was never explained to me, and I had zero exposure to how to deal with it. It was taboo. So I took steps to learn what mental health is and the things I could do to help myself. I realised there was so much I didn't know and so many things I was never taught.
This topic has become so important to me. I came from such a hopeless and lonely place to a place of gratitude and happiness. I took it upon myself to grow. I became fascinated by Mental Health so much I decided to become a professional within the industry. My sole purpose is purely wanting to help people and help pull them out of their dark places, a place I once was. To do this, I went on to become:

A Certified Life Coach By Transformation Academy
A Learning & Development Trainer
And I am currently learning to become a clinical psychologist. My journey was far from an overnight success, and I'm looking forward to sharing more about my journey and everything I've learnt.

The reality is that striving for perfection holds us back.
We spend so much time doing, striving, and achieving, in an endless quest to get it all “perfect,” and we end up missing out on what life is really about: being in each moment and experiencing life where we are, as we are.
When we’re caught up in the pursuit of achieving the perfect body, finding the perfect mate, landing the perfect job, or being the perfect person, it hinders us from seeing how beautifully our journey unfolds right before our eyes.
Perfection detracts you from the incredible life path you’re on and prevents you from seeing the gifts always in front of you. So the next time you get caught up in the endless pursuit of perfection, here are three things to remember:

💫 Perfection isn’t authentic.
💫 Perfection is stagnation.
Perfection isn’t something you can achieve because it doesn’t actually exist. So the next time you strive to be a more perfect version of yourself, remember that the imperfect, flawed, vulnerable you is perfect enough.
