We have utilised a lot of space available after harvesting all the goodies and we have planted a lot of new veggies, which you can see in the pictures!

Jobs that need doing are:
*making sure we have a space cleared and move the fruit trees.
*turn the compost (will need to cut back overgrowth first to get to it)
*harvest anything that's ready.
*weeding

The garden is growing very fast!
There is a lot of work that needs doing and more volunteers will be needed!

Lovely little session today, not many people came today, but lots of things done...and the children outnumbered the adults today!
We watered the polyyunnel and beds outside, done some weeding and harvested raspberries, strawberries, x3 different types of lettuce leaf, onions, garlic, peas, kale, mint and lemon balm!

Today we managed to plant more peas, did a bit of weeding and watering, harvested kale, onions, lettuce, beetroot and potatoes.
The main discovery of the session was the potatoes!! Last year a complete failure, this year a complete success ππͺπΌππΌππΌππΌ
More work is being planned, come along and have fun. All levels of knowledge and skills are welcome πππ€
We would like to:
* Build a new shed
* Top up the beds with mushroom compost
* Strimming, strimming, strimming π
* Moving the trees to a different section of the garden
And much more alongside the usual maintenance π―

We have planted peas and dwarf beans.
We harvested mainly lemonbalm today.
The pollytunnel watered and tidied up.
Plans are to build a new shed and a lot of strimming and watering, as the weather is becoming hotter βοΈππ¦
Next session is on Saturday 8th June 2024 at 1-3pm.
Volunteer session will take place from 12-2 tomorrow (Sun 2nd June).

Today's session was slightly shorter, but things got done.
Alongside the usual and routine tasks - watering and weeding - we managed to plant broccoli, brussel sprouts and cauliflower π₯¦

Today's session was a bit chilly, but despite the sun hiding behind the clouds, the plants are waking up to life and the garden reminds us that the spring has come πππ¦
We did a lot of weeding and watering the plants.
This months we are planning to grow broccoli, peas, iceberg lettuce, cauliflower and leeks... π₯¦π«π₯¬
Our beds need topping up with compost and new ideas and creative minds are always welcome to improve the garden.
We harvested kale and celery and much more is yet to come

Lovely session today. Lots in poltytunnel starting to grow, grape plants also starting to establish...and some fruit trees planted; cherry, apple and plum. Also, harvested some Sage and Kale to donate to Olio.

The last session on Saturday, 13/01/24, revolved around organising the seeds and planning when to plant what.

Thank you all for coming and facing the drop in temperature.
The mushroom compost in our beds has been covered by a layer of frost for the first time π©΅βοΈ
We did a bit of weeding, watering the pollytunel and tidying up for the winter sleep...
And as a bonus we harvested a little bit of veggies. You can see a beautiful "surgical" cut through the cabbage π

Today's session was a bit chilly, yet sunny, the autumn can be felt in the air.
We harvested strawberries, rocket, spinach, chard, cucumbers, beetroot, cabbage, radish, courgette, lettuce and runner beans π₯π₯¬π
The pumpkins are ready for spooky Halloween ππ€
Next session is on 01/10/2023! The session will gradually take place every other weekend over the winter chills.

We have done a lot of weeding, as you can see in the pictures (previously impossible to see any plants, as hidden among weeds)!!
A lot of watering... And kale and celery planted in the polytunnel....
We have harvested beetroots, radishes, strawberries, rocket, cucumbers, spinach.... Also see the pic! We could do with more volunteers to take home our collection π€π€π
Next session is on Sunday, 17/09/23, when the sun is more likely to be hidden behind the clouds β
Tomorrow's session (9/9/23) will be on 2-4pm as usual, but please be aware this is supposed to be the hottest day of the year! π₯΅.
Please wear protective clothing/sun cream and only come if you can handle and are prepared for the heat! There will be plenty of water available, and access to a toilet.
