According to the latest Rajar (audience research) figures - 74% of the population now listen to digital radio each week.....

The most recent 'Rajar' audience research for Radio in the UK shows that:

There are now 49.7 million adults or 88.8 % of the adult (15+) UK population tuned in to radio each week .

The total average number of weekly hours listened to radio is 1.02 Billion from 998 million in Q2 2022.

On average a listener tunes into 20.6 hours of Live Radio per week, up from 20.4 and commercial radio now reaches 5.2m listeners more than BBC radio – an all time record.

In terms of reach, 41 million adults aged 15+ are now tuning in to radio via a digitally enabled platform (DAB, DTV, Online, App, Smart Speaker) each week.

66% of the population claim to own or have access to a DAB radio.

We are in the process of building a DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) service for the areas around Crewe and Nantwich, in the South Cheshire area.
Our service will be able to carry around 20 new and existing radio services in high quality to around 215,000 people, and is expected to be on-air by early 2023.
