Based on Rural Fife and all the beautiful wildlife living about.

The Scottish Kept Bird Register (SKBR) has now been launched. This requires all bird keepers – even those who keep only a single bird – to officially register their bird location(s).

𝐈𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝, 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝟏 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟏 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐝𝐬. Those previously registered on the GB Poultry Register will be required to re-register on the SKBR between these dates.

By registering their birds, keepers will ensure they receive important updates relevant to them, such as on any local notifiable avian disease outbreaks and important information on biosecurity rules to help protect themselves and their flocks.

For tonight's artist showcase we want to share the work of one of our regular artists, PJ Topley ART. Paula has been working on lots of new art which she will exhibit with us on the 14th of September. We are sure you agree it is stunning work.

Paula is based in Cupar and creates art inspired by what pops up in the garden and what’s about in the beautiful Scottish countryside. She welcomes commissions, but if you are looking for a special seasonal gift get in touch soon.

SHOCKING: FIVE seabirds added to the list of species at DIRE RISK of local extinction.

Overfishing and warming seas are threatening the food supply for the arctic tern, common gull and many others in the UK. We need to PROTECT our oceans and SAVE our seabirds.

Starting the day on an epic walk with Dotty. Full loop of Braehead up to the listening post, all along ( in totally unsuitable footwear🫣) with plenty of unplanned slip sliding onto the back road by Foxton farm then headed back into Cupar on the Dairsie path( which seriously needs cutting back and making at least safe for folk to pass each other)
Dotty loves her brambling 🌿 We made it back alive woohoo !!! 🌈🫣🤣 I’ll be asking Santa for wellies this year …

There are many signs that the seasons are changing and one that I noticed on Friday was the appearance of 5 or so wheatears at Tentsmuir Point.

Wheatears are long-distance migrants and will be making their way back to Africa for the winter. Birds that are flying back from Greenland and stopping off in the UK will undertake one of the longest migrations of any songbird! Some of them will fly non-stop across the Atlantic to northern Spain and then on to West Africa. Pretty impressive for a bird roughly the size of a robin.

Handsome Stag … plenty more of these being painted up today in differing colours.

Please have this in mind as I don’t carry high volumes of canvas blanks due to lack of room too, so specific sizes may need ordering in. Which all takes time.
