I would like to wish all my customers past and present a merry Christmas and happy new year
Merry Christmas and happy new year to all my customers past and present. Hope 2023 is a good year for you all
Due to other work commitments I don't get to post much at the moment. This a small decorating job I worked on in Deeping a little while ago. This included fitting missing coving upstairs, dado rail that wasn't finished for some reason.full decoration of walls, ceilings and painting all the woodwork, and the doors which I replaced on a previous visit.
I've not posted in a while for various reasons as I am in the process of making some changes to my business going forward. These are a couple of small jobs done recently first was a cupboard to cover the fuse board. Customer preferred to have no handle so fitted a touch latch instead and wanted a shaker door made the proper way compared to faker shaker doors. That everyone has these days.
This job was in bainton as they had an old greenhouse which I removed for them earlier on this year to use at my allotment if I ever get round to put it up.
The second job was in market deeping just removal of old shed and contents. Not the thing I normally do but me and the wife did there shopping for them during lockdown so he didn't know who else to ask.
A little while back me and my wife were lucky enough to get a plot at Deeping allotments after speaking to one of our neighbors who had there own plot and advised us to put our name down on the waiting list.
It's still a working progress as I pop down when I can or in-between jobs. The shed we had before I couldn't fix but I've managed to build compost bins out of it aswelll as other things. I was also lucky to buy the timber I needed before everything shot up in price . I still have the raised beds to do as we've opted for the no dig policy so we will see how that goes .
It has also been a great help to me recently after a few things that have been going on and of. Of late some personal and some work related. Which meant I had to step back from the business for a short while and will need to makes some changes going forward with my business.
We do have some well established fruit trees and it will be nice to grow some vegetables and not just weeds as with everything that is going up in price .
This is a stair refurbishment I carried out for a young couple in Stamford. Via a recommendation from Joe Elliott electrician.
First job was to remove the carpet and boarding in the underside cupboard and fix the excessive movement in the stairs.
Then remove old handrails, spindles and newel post, with something more appropriate including a diminishing handrail so it confirms with building regs. Re board cupboard re fit carpet as a temporary measure as it's being replaced and do some minor alterations in the kitchen.
I would like to wish all my current and past customers a safe and Happy Christmas and New year
I'm sharing this article from our local magazine, written by the home owners, Dave and Olwyn, as I'm chuffed to see my name mentioned as one of the voluntary helpers for the house that Deeping built.
The article reads
"... Again trying to find a tradesman to help with the stud walls, was almost impossible but Richard Edgington, a local joiner and carpenter, came to the rescue. Richard has already made the window templates for the builders to work to and now he came to help and advise on the stud wall construction, which after one incorrect wall had to be taken down and re built between us, Olwyn and I, successfully built all the interior stud walls."
I also popped back once everything was decorated to fit the internal oak veneered doors
Couple of small jobs done. First one at the allotment in Deeping. Due to a break in recently I had to put the job on hold but have been back again there today to change the exterior door and frame and replace one of the internal doors as I didnt have enough glue to stick it back together as the little darlings who got into the club house had a smashing time.
The other job also in deeping was a repair to an exterior door frame and fix the pergola.
Little job done for a customer in Dowsdale bank. I think it's 10 years since I last worked on a staircase not something I do very often even when I have worked for other people. But as I know the couple as they own a car garage in deeping I thought I would help them out as they have always looked after me when I've needed work done on my vehicles. This was the last job that needed doing on there extension.
First job was for an existing customer. I fitted new doors on there previous property and have been back again to fit new, doors in there new house in Langtoft.
I also rounded of the corners on there breakfast bar that the customer had fitted.
The second job was for my cousin in Peterborough fitting new doors, and sorting out some other bits for him on his kitchen and other stuff
This is a little job I've been working on in Blackboro End nr kings lynn for my inlaws, now there japanese garden is done the only other work I had left to do was the decorating upstairs and with it being an old cottage there were other things to do like repairing the walls and floors and other bits like you have with older properties. Didn't help having to paint around a six foot 12 stone teddy 🐻 but life is never dull.
This is a corner bench seat with storage I built for a lovely customer in Market Deeping. All made from 18 and 22 mm MR MDF with it being a kitchen. Recommended by one of there neighbours who I built them a u shape seat for in there new kitchen last year. I also sorted out there oak block worktops by sanding them down to remove the stains and ring marks and refinished the tops in oil. Customer is Happy as they left me a lovely review.
This is a recent job I've been working on in Empingham. For a new customer on one of his rental properties. Funnily enough he used to be my sisters, landlord when she and her business partner owned a hair salon in Peterborough. I've fitted a new kitchen, utility. Replaced the rottern wooden lintels at the back of the property. Repaired the existing doors along with a load of other things. Glad I'm now done as there, was more work to do than I originally expected.
This is a kitchen I fitted in Spalding back end of last year customer finally had her floor done a couple of weeks ago. I popped in today to do a couple of adjustments and fit the plinths. Nice to see it all finished. decorating, tiling and flooring. Bit different from when I was there before.
This is a stair cupboard built for a new customer in Northborough on the referral from the one I built in Hop pole. All filled and sanded ready for the customer to paint. It was fun cutting the funny angles on the beading so much so I had to make a jig to fit on my miter saw. The customer is happy and that's the main thing. There, painting it and not me 😊
This is a recent job I've done for a new customer in Hop Pole. On there old farm house. I built them a pull out drawer for shoes etc a cupboard under the stairs to make best use of the space, storing cleaning stuff. and also allowing them room to re fit there sofa once everything is painted. I also replaced the frame and door to there play room as the old door frame was out of level and they were without a door. A new frame had to be made out of 25mm /12 mm mdf as the opening was so wide a standard fixed rebate frame wouldn't be wide enough. I also thought it would be nice to take a few pictures of the surrounding area as it was such a lovely spot and to see the tractors ploughing the fields.
Couple of recent jobs, one in Moulton Chapel fitting new glazed doors, making up new stair cupboard door to match new doors, also including decoration and the other in bretton Peterborough replacing old worktops, altering pipework and fitting new outside tap
Little job I've started today making door and window profiles for the bricklayer for the couple who lost there bungalow in Market Deeping last year. Due to a fire that destroyed there home. They have not been able to do much so far due to the bad weather. But at least they are, slowly starting to get going now. It's nice to know they have other trades giving up there time to help. As well as suppliers donating materials to them also.
