Introducing our Man Of The Match from Sundays game sponsored by Willows Sports Centre, Derby
Adam Reed.
Reedy was in a proper battle on Sunday. Took some heavy knocks and constantly tried to play forward. His work rate and determination, in the 2nd half especially stood out.
Well done Reedy!
Thanks to Carl at Remapped UK for reaching out to us to sponsor Gerson.
Pop over to his page and see the competition he's running.
Thanks again Carl
And here are our goalscorers from Sundays game.

Well done lads.
So this past Sunday we faced Neptune Rams.
After what was a barnstorming game in pre season. We are a much changed side since then. Plenty of comings and goings meant we are still trying to find our feet.
We were quickly 2 goals down. 1 poor penalty decision saw Neptune be 3 up and then by half time we were 0-6 down.
The half time team talk was one of the hardest I've ever given. And the lads gave everything in the 2nd half.
We were 0-7 down. When substitute Kyle Grant has used his marker to bend the ball into the top corner for the goal of the game so far.
We then earned a penalty and the comeback was on. 👀🤣
Adam Reed who was at his best on Sunday earned it and with the game already out of reach he stepped up. Sadly for Reedy he didn't convert it and the keeper kept it out.
We continued to battle and in small spells we played some great football with Simba, Kyle and Gerson all linking up well.
We made progress down the right and a cross comes over and Gerson Diaz scores his first competitive goal for the club with a lovely scissor kick into the bottom corner.
The game was done by half time and all I asked from the lads was to make it hard for the oppo in the 2nd half and they duly did that. Yes we lost to a heavy defeat. But I was proud of the reaction and couldn't fault the effort put in.
We still have loads to work on and have to massively improve in the coming games. But if we start Sunday the way we finished the last game we will continue to improve.
Well done to the Neppy lads. Some good lads there and always a good game. All the best for the rest of the season.
Thanks as ever to our main kit sponsor Motorpoint
Don't worry, Kel's back in charge of washing the kit again!

A result that was fair but an inconsistent official that ruined what shouldve been a closer game.

So yesterday we faced The Wilmot Arms in our 2nd league game.
The game started brightly for us with Tom, Steady and Gerson all playing well with Reedy and Kyle driving us forward and Caleb pulling the strings from CDM.
We were causing them real problems and it paid off when the returning Bogdan getting on the end of a through ball and lobbing the keeper to put us 1 up.
We continued to press and could've scored again but Boggy headed over from Gerson's whipped in corner.
The same happened again, this time from Tom whipping the ball in and Boggy again shaving the top of the bar.
The Wilmot equalised when a throughball deflected off Rio and landed in the middle of the 18 yard box. A tough call for Josh as to come or not, he stayed on his line and the forward slotted home.
We nearly gained the lead again after Tom sent their RB for a hotdog and curled his shot which hit the top of the bar.
At Half time we discussed the importance of playing football and not hoofing it up top.
This is where we unraveled.
A contested penalty decision gave the Wilmot a 2-1 lead and all we discussed went out the window.
They made it 3-1 when a long distance free kick went through Josh's legs and they rounded it off to make it 4-1 when they hit us on the counter.
A frustrating day at the office for us as we didnt show all the qualities we had shown in pre season. But we rebuild and go again next week.
All the best to the Wilmot for the rest of the season.
Thanks as always to our main sponsor Motorpoint (Derby)

Introducing yesterday's Man Of The Match Sponsored by Willows Sports Centre, Derby. David Riordan.
Rio adapted to playing the holding midfielder brilliantly, breaks down play and gets us moving forward when in possession. His ball out wide in the build up to the goal was absolutely class.

Todays game is always one for the first highlights on motd 2 as every game vs Corinthians is played at a great pace.
And in typical alvaston fashion we started slow with Corinthians keen to show they were here to get their season up and running.
The first half was a half of few chances but when either goalkeeper was called upon they stood firm between the sticks with Newts forcing a good save from their keeper and like wise when Ryan Morgan got a sniff of goal also.
The main talking point was the ruled out goal from Brooklyn Bruce rising like a salmon with a header at the back stick only to be chalked off for offside.
Other than that the only other talking point was how many cards were shown or should of been shown through out for the toughly contested challenges from both sides.
On to the second half Alvaston came out the quicker of the two with a much higher press than the first half due to a change in formation.
10 minutes into the second half we took the lead from a brilliant passage of play involving Reedy with a neat flick to Rio who delightfully found Kyle on the right who delivered the perfect cross for Newts to hit first time into the bottom corner.
As the game went on Corinthians made some changes that clearly stated they wasn’t going to give up the 3 points easily and soon after the pressure paid off as Max gave away a penalty for hand ball. Step forward our super keeper Josh with a big save to keep the game at 1-0.
Corinthians kept knocking but a resolute Alvaston defence was staying strong and it would take something special to keep us from the clean sheet and something special it was.
A stunning 20 yard free kick from Eugene Ruzvidzo, with all dip and swerve you can dream of making the score 1 all with 20 to go. Both teams pressed for the winner and due to some excellent defending from both sides the draw was the fair result.
Good Luck to Corinthians for the rest of the season.
And a huge thank you to our main sponsor, Motorpoint

Yesterday's Willows Sports Centre, Derby MOTM was Tom Sheffield.
Tom was the driving force for us yesterday. Frustrated at times but kept working and getting at his fullback to not only continue his scoring run. But providing an excellent assist.

So yesterday we faced Taverners League Stalwarts, The Golden Pheasant.
A game that started with us having the better chances.
Pheasant went ahead before the drinks break when confusion in the defence allowed them to score the first of the game.
We equalised through Tom who took his chance clinically.
We then went a goal down again, when a strike was tipped onto the bar and come down and hit Josh on the back and went in.
We went 2 behind when Josh, usually very reliable spilled the ball and Pheasant made us pay.
A few changes made and we got back into it when Gerson Diaz scored a lovely strike from 18 yards when set up by Kyle Grant.
We were pressing for an equaliser now. And we got the deserved goal through Debutant Luke Stone who tucked the ball home after some great work by Tom Sheffield down the left wing.
The game ended 3-3 with us probably deserving a win. Butultiple changes every 30 mins made it hard for us to get the right balance.
Phesant took their chances and fair play to them.
We look for a game this weekend due to a lack of league fixture.

Introducing yesterday's Willows Sports Centre, Derby MOTM: Danwell Francis.
Danwell is one of those players that can change games. Last season he didn't play as much as we all would've liked. But when he did he scored goals. He has this ability to be able to anticipate the mistake coming and makes it count.
Was a good performance and 2 very well taken goals.
