So today I had an absolute mountain of work to get through; preparing presentations, calling prospective clients, preparing coaching materials, following up with prospects, submitting my VAT return etc...🙄

Just when I thought I was going to be working late into the evening, I opened up a couple of files and, to my absolute delight, the work was already done! My letter was already written and dated today ready to just print and sign. My coaching materials for tomorrow were already prepared and my meeting agenda was all done, ready to be sent 😃

I suddenly remembered that last week, on a day when I had less on my to-do list than usual, I had decided to get ahead and prepare for this week, when I could have enjoyed a rare bit of down-time.

Being self-employed, the only person driving me, is me. Sometimes I put myself under more pressure than the corporate environment did. But guess what? Hard work pays off. Like most things in life, by putting in the hard-yards, the results will come. You don't get anything by sitting back and expecting things to come to you.

Imagine how relieved I am that last week, when I could've taken my foot off the gas, I kept going, relentlessly pursuing my goals. Which means this evening, while my wife is having to work late, I can have the dinner ready when she gets home for a change! 😊
