We have the noisiest eater ever here 🐷🐷 They are getting a slightly heavier diet these 2 days as they have been through the market system and wont have had much food for a day or so. It doesnt do them any harm but it does them good to have full bellies to settle in with.
Its quite nice and cosy in the chicken sheds when its raining ! See how all the hens have plenty of space to roam around 😀
Our first broody of the year and she's a good'n. The nest boxes are nice and dark, warm and cosy for the girls to sit for a while and lay their eggs for you. The green curtains act as a good door and the hens aren't scared of going through them. The eggs are collected 2x daily so they arent under her long enough to start growing a chick (it takes 48 hours of constant heat to start) and if there was ever any hot eggs, the cats would get them.
