After your ride, enjoy the festival atmosphere, with live music, beer tent, BBQ fare, and homemade cakes! raises money for local causes and is run by village residents together with local mountain bike enthusiasts giving up their time for free. Almost entirely off-road, the routes wind their way through the beautiful North Wessex Downs, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty encompassing the Ridgeway and surrounding bridleways.

Had a fun time putting this Uptonogood? 2024 Mountain Bike Festival montage together today. So many smiling faces and dirty bottoms! We had a ball and hope you did too.
On Monday we will be placing another order for our new MTB jerseys from Scimitar. Should you want one, this weekend will be your last opportunity this side of 2025. Order here https://www.uptonogood.org.uk/mtb-jerseys/
This is what Uptonogood? 2024 - Mountain Bike Festival is all about. Womens Olympic MTB champion of the future?
Thank you to everyone who participated in Saturday's Uptonogood? 2024 - Mountain Bike Festival. It was a day of all seasons resulting in a truly memorable ride and a wonderful afternoon for chilling with a beer in good company.
Shall we do the same next year?
Entries will close at 10pm tonight.
50 min to go......
Last call: There will be a Β£5 surcharge on Adult 19/25/35 on-the-day entries. That's more than a pint at our bar, so don't delay and register now https://www.uptonogood.org.uk/enter/
With an improving forecast, we're all very positive here at Uptonogood? 2024 - Mountain Bike Festival. As I type we have 524 riders registered, 76 Village/MTB volunteers enlisted, Hagbourne Scouts, Didcot Air Cadets, Didcot Fire Station, a tent bursting with The Loose Cannon Brewery beer, Tutts Clump Proper Cider, wine, a small herd of cattle (in the form of Q Gardens Farm Shop burgers admittedly), AND for the first time, a quality draught larger (Loose Cannon 676).
Mountain Mania Cycles will be looking after any hardware problems while Safe Hands Medical Services Ltd will deal with any flesh and bone matters.
1st Class Logistics UK Ltd are providing our stage, Wise Owl Accountants Ltd our toilets, while Thomas Merrifield Sales & Lettings are a brilliant, long term sponsor of the event, picking up a significant portion of our expenses, allowing us to raise even more money for good causes.
For your entertainment we have The Nine Ton Peanut Smugglers, Al Jenkins, Count Skylarkin, and local ledgends, McFunky!
There will be rain before Saturday but as trails are currently bone dry, that will just keep your dust down for the folk you leave behind π.
Hope you can make it!
How to enter - Uptonogood? For your safety and enjoyment, rider numbers are limited to 200 per ride. All correctly attired and tooled up for the last day of signage placing.π€
I almost forgot that I have one other very important announcement to make.
Blue watch at Didcot Fire Station will be attending Uptonogood? 2024 - Mountain Bike Festival. Now, there's a rumor that they are only coming for the best burgers this side of Upton, but actually they will be leading our Little Wheels ride out of the park and safely over the road to embark on their 6 mile epic!
What kid doesn't want to cycle after a fire engine?
Been busy bees today. Lots of signage deployed, lots of pruning, feed-station supplies delivered to those that need them, village verges cut, and the swamp that was the dropped kurb to the Rec is no more!
Oh, and the MTB Jerseys have arrived. π₯³
I've just been informed the MTB Jerseys have been dispatched and are on their way to us. π
Last night we had our second Marshal's meeting at The George at Upton, so everyone is now clued in to what they will be doing on the day.
Today, we'll be collecting the Feedstations top quality traybakes from Ardington Bakery, then off to Tesco for a boot load of water and squash, before heading out to start signing the route.
It gets real from this point on, so if you haven't yet, get your entry in.

Blessed to have this resource on our doorstep.
Today we celebrate and all this beautiful county brings us.
Our Trail starts and ends at Avebury National Trust and follows a ridge of chalk hills northeast from Avebury to Ivinghoe Beacon to the northwest of London for a total of 87 miles.

I HOPE you can. π€
Check out this new essential bike kit from Lezyne π.
If you're riding Uptonogood? trails these coming days, don't just snag it, Snip it!
You won't just be helping us out, but next time you're there the offending bramble/branch won't be! π₯³
We have made a minor change to the 25/35 route out of East Ginge. We will no-longer be using the lower section of White Way, the right turn next to the post box.
Instead continue on the road for 100m and then turn right to reach White Way.
The change is due to the very poor state of this section which is very overgrown and deeply rutted, making it an acquired taste!
Back in 2010, we had the idea to organise a village bike event to help raise money for Upton's village hall extension. Below is an article that appeared in the Didcot Herald at the time. I never got a mention but my 6 year old son at the time clearly stole the show!
