C (aged 3 years 3 months) was busy releasing cars down ramps and calculating the number of cars that were left. He put on his glasses (like Daddy) to help him see better and wrote down 'numbers' in a notebook he found.

Play, Observe....Ask.

We asked children what they noticed when they came to see our tadpoles.

"What's different today?" "What have you noticed?"

A: "Look..they got out of their eggs!"
"They're long now!" "They have tails!"

B: "Woah!" "WOW!"
"Look they've got a little home here!" (pointing to a rock with an opening...)

A: "That's funny, that water..." (pointing to the bubbles at the top). "Why are those bubbles there?"
"They're running around." "No! They're swimming!" ..."I go swimming."

C: Their tails are wiggly." "Look! like this..." (doing actions)

B: "They're going really fast!" "It's doing a role poly in there!".
"I wonder when they're going to turn into a frog?"

D: "No, no! not yet...froglet's next!." (looking at a life cycle on the wall).

B: "They're going have legs next...and that will be funny!"

C: "They're googly eyes those eggs!" (looking at frogspawn picture)

All children giggling....
