T​oday is World Menopause Day​! Th​i​s year's theme is ​'Menopause Hormone Therapy​'.

The purpose of the day is to raise awareness of the menopause and the support options available for improving health and well being​.

​At My Healthy Way ​we are showing our support by offering our free 'Supporting Menopause through Nutrition' webinar at 12:30 today. Nutrition can be such an important factor in supporting symptoms of the menopause. For example, did you know that vitamin C can become depleted through some HRT and is needed to help with hot flushes? Magnesium is important in helping with the increased feelings of stress and anxiety, and a good intake of fibre is essential in balancing oestrogen levels. These are just a couple of examples of the role of nutrition at all stages of the menopause.

Parkwood Leisure featured as one of the leading case studies within the report, with a spotlight on Tarka Leisure Centre’s MSK Hub. Between May 2023- March 2024, Parkwood Leisure engaged 58% of the total participants who accessed an MSK Hub throughout the national pilot. 62.5% of participants saw an improvement in their wellbeing as a result of accessing their local MSK Hub.

Does your appetite change during the summer? ☀️

Many people find that it can! When we get hot we can often find that not only do we want to eat less then usual, many people can also find sugar cravings go up. If you notice your eating patterns change then listen to your body, and simply try to choose the most nourishing food you can each day. If in doubt, try a good multi vitamin mineral during the summer months so you keep nutrients coming in. Protein is a brilliant food group that has endless health benefits in the body💪

It's great to help recovery after we have done exercise, but the role of protein is even bigger than that. It helps with immunity, healing and repairing, sugar cravings, balancing body weight and so much more.

You can get protein from any animal product, but you can also get it from plant based items such as lentils, chickpeas, beans and all legumes. If you can, your main meals contain around 25% protein!

Jen, thank you for this course. I thought I knew how to help myself but what you have delivered has made me realise how much more there was to learn. I have already started to experience improvements in my sleep, mood and skin and can't wait to continue with the changes after these 6 weeks.
