Sorry, I have been so quiet this year.

2023 started off with a cancer scare, bringing my wedding forward over a year and starting a new job.

Things are *kinda* starting to calm down now and, with my new work hours changing, it means I can concentrate again on Ginger Pixie Designs.

When I design and make a memorial, no matter if its for a pet, family member, friend etc I put a lot of care and thought into it to make it as perfect for you as I can.

A customer approached me this week to make a memorial for her beloved dog, Ruby, who recently passed, along with a dog tag and urn keyring.

Her message to me today means so much. ❤️

Update: I have recently found out that using a Spotify code infringes copyright laws. Therefore, my Our Song slates will no long include it. I have tried to update the photos but FB hasn't changed them yet. Sorry for any inconvenience but, I'm sure you can agree, code or no code, they are still beautiful and unique gifts ❤

I'm too excited to share this than to wait for it to cool down and doing a staged photo.... I bloody love it!

A customer asked me to make one for his girlfriend. I needed a bit of help but it's finally finished - the one shown is an example I made! The words are Pointless by Lewis Capaldi, it includes a Spotify code at the bottom which, when scanned in Spotify, it will play the song.

Such a great Valentine's/anniversary/wedding/birthday gift.

Printed onto slate and comes with a stand.

Update: I have just found out that using Spotift codes on products is infringing copyright laws. Therefore, they will no longer have the codes printed onto them. But, I'm sure you'll agree, the design still look amazing without it 🥰

Thank you Hallmade Jewellery for asking me to make them a business signs. It's finished with a UV Protection to protect from sun fade.

Made from rock slate, it is already rain-proof, and measures approximately 29.5cm x 19cm.

My next new product is this lovely, little dog tag/key ring.

Any name can be added, background colour can be changed. Full tag measures 3.5cm x 3.3cm.

I've been playing around with a few new products.

Here are a couple of wedding charms:

The first one hold 2 photos, one under the other finished off with an angel charm. Images measure 2cm x 2.5cm. Comes with a pin for you to attach to bouquet, dress, suit, kilt etc.

The second one hold 2 photos, back to back. It is finished with pearls, dimonte bead, and tag which reads "Those we love don't go away, They walk beside us everyday" It comes with a clasp to attach to your outfit or accessories. Images measure 3cm x 4cm.

Happy New Year Sorry I've been a bit quiet this week, I'm bunged up with a bad cold and feeling very pathetic. I've also been moving my office from the workshop into the house where it is much, much warmer!

This year, I'll be looking into new designs and products. Below is a gift I made for my fiancé for Christmas, which has been printed onto a wooden frame - unfortunately, I have to cover my photos with a watermark due to others stealing my images🥺

That's me all done for Christmas and now to spend time with my family.

What a year it's been - from sharing an idea of using sublimation slate to making it the main focal point in my business.... MY business! That was something I never thought I would say.

I have learnt a lot this year, and grown as a person. This time last year I was still recovering from a motorbike accident, as well as recovering from covid and the increased affect it had on my fibromyalgia. With the help of E3 and Women's Business Station, I got the support to progress Ginger Pixie Designs and change it from a hobby to a business. In May, I left my job at the NHS and had that wonderful order from Dundee United FC.

I have met some fantastic and inspirational people and made life-long friends.

The opportunity to work with the wonderful social enterprise, Women's Business Station, was an amazing experience and we are all still gutted the funding wasn't there to keep the organisation going.

Best of all, I have been able to fulfill orders for many amazing customers. And to you I have to say the biggest thank you! Please keep buying from small, local/independent businesses. You are not a number to us but a person. You are not lost in a plethora of orders, but greatly appreciated for your custom. And when you come back to buy from us again, or recommend us to loved ones - we see it and are truly grateful.
