Club Update!

Hi everyone, first of all I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has joined us over the last few days and for your comments on what we have built.

Now onto what to expect over the next few week’s as we build up to full operational capacity.

Steam and sauna will be commissioned over Thursday and Friday of next week and then will be operating 8am - 10pm Monday through Sunday.

After meeting a number of class instructors last week we have filled a number of the positions for class coaches and will have a phase 1 of 3 class timetable for you all to see and provide feedback. This timetable will be launching on Monday 3rd April.

Following this we will also be welcoming a new coach to the club.

We have also been told that the full lease line to the club will be live Tuesday and all systems will then be live from Wednesday in which we will then be able to operate 24 hours a day 7 days a week, until then we will operate 6am - 10pm.

Due to this we have extended the pre-sale membership till Wednesday in which all can take advantage of joining us for £34.99 a month with zero joining fee.

We are now organising a Member day for the 3rd April to celebrate the official opening of the club with give aways, competitions and more for all to join in, plus all members will be able to bring a guest!

THE PREP TRANSFORMATION
97kg/213.4lbs➡️73kg/160.6lbs

-24kg/52.8lbs

19 weeks work, started with calories fairly high and cardio & steps fairly low, and throughout the 19 weeks slowly pulled away calories mainly from carbs then fats and protein when needed, and slowly increased cardio and steps!

Things got very hard at one point, calories ended up as low as 1200, cardio as high as 90 mins and steps 18k (10k of which were weighted)

Next time round the plan is to start in a better spot in terms of body composition so there’s less body fat to come off, as well as being more aggressive out the gate so there’s no worry about getting into condition in time!

Progress so far for 👏🏼💥

One word - consistency. Hannah has only 2 sessions a week with me and usually did one on her own aswell and then just this year started doing 2 on her own.

She shows up to her sessions each week and progresses her lifts whether it’s a load increase, better intensity, ex*****on or tempo. The result: more muscle in both the upper and lower body and waist has tightened up massively!

She’s also been consistent with tracking her food and steps and it definitely shows, obviously a few hiccups along the way with holidays, christmas and covid (for both of us) but a lot more to come!

BACK GROWTH ➡️

Pretty much winging it, just doing a few rows and pulldowns without actually knowing what muscles were being worked and why.

Second photo: November 2021
Having a solid programme, using exercises I connect well with and understanding what muscles are being biased when doing certain movements. For example which exercises are biasing the upper back and which are biasing the lats.

Line of force and arm path have a huge influence on what muscle in your back is working.

With a row/pulldown for example, if your elbows are flared and coming past your torso this will be mostly upper back focused.

If your elbow is close to the body pulling down towards the hip but staying in line with the torso when fully contracted then this will be mostly lat focused, if your arm goes PAST your torso then the upper back starts to come into play.

Leg Press cues/tips to get the most out of your quads⤵️

4.5pps + 5inch bands x9
3pps + 5inch bands 4x4 cluster
-
Firstly you want to place your feet as low as possible without your heels coming up during the rep, then get as much range of motion as possible to allow for more knee flexion = challenging the quads in the lengthened range.
-
Control the eccentric portion of the rep as much as you can (try to count 2-3 seconds) then drive up hard through the heels.
-
Get as much air in as you can before each rep, pull yourself down into the seat for stability (use chalk or straps if it helps) and go close/or to failure.
-
Purpose of the band? To pretty much manipulate the resistance profile, for example the leg press is usually harder at the bottom, and gets easier towards the top. Adding the band takes out the ‘easier’ portion to create a challenge through the whole rep.

You also need a vein bursting out of your neck for max hypertrophy🔑
-

6 weeks, class👏🏽

62.5kg ➡️ 66kg

Went for a bit of a recomp here (building muscle whilst losing body fat) which is definitely do-able for beginner lifters or people who have had an extended amount of time off from lifting. Chest and shoulders have filled out nicely aswell as the mid section tightening up!

3 training days a week with higher food as there’s more demand for carbohydrates, likewise with lower food on rest days.
No cardio just 10-12k steps per day.

Food didn’t change for the whole 6 weeks as there was no need with weight just increasing very slowly then we just focused on training intensity, progressive overload, and getting enough rest.

Client Transformation⏳💥

11 weeks between photos here, 41.7kg-49.6kg, almost 8kg added in 11 weeks!

came to me back in April with the goal of getting stronger, fitter and gaining some weight for her army assessment. She managed to smash the assessment with a mid thigh pull of 123kg and a 3.4m medicine ball throw👏

Food slowly increased and cardio tapered off all while tracking lifts and focusing on progressing each session, massive well done and good luck with your career in the army💪🪖

Rear shot/post covid update:

2nd week back training after having covid and strength is on its way back, appetite is back and bodyweight is pretty much back to where it was after losing a couple KG’s. I think after this week I’ll be in a very good spot to push up even further with training and food.

Sometimes having a break from training can have its benefits, getting rid of fatigue, bringing back the energy and motivation to train, better sleep, higher appetite, therefore enabling you to train even better and make more progress when you return, so I’m looking forward to the next few weeks🔥
