🏆 🔴 ⚫️ Championes, Championes 🔴 ⚫️ 🏆 We entered the Grassroots Football Tournamnet up at Cochrane Park in Newcastle today which was a very well ran event with a different format playing 2 sets of group games instead of knockouts and the dreaded penalties 😂 After finishing second place in our initial group we went into the next group stage knowing we would have to be top to win some silverware. In the second group we won all 3 of our games without conceding to win the league and bring home the cup🏆 Well done today boys, we had a bare 7 so no subs, but everyone worked hard in the 6 games and deserved their reward of winning. Some great team play on show aswell with some simple goals scored by sharing the ball and seeing others in good spaces to score. Defensively solid with Sam and Joey working brilliantly between defence and midfield, Logan, Jack Spence, Jack Henson and Leo who we borrowed for the day changed positions often but played equally well wherever I put them and Oliver with a couple of good saves and some excellent reactions. Player of the Tournament was a toss up between Sam and Jack Spence, Sam was excellent defensively and becoming a lot more composed on the ball, there’s a poor kid from Blyth still looking for the hot dog that Sam sent him for in one of our games. Jack Spence at the opposite end of the pitch was non stop running and creator of a lot of our chances. Really starting to click with him sharing the ball and seeing others in better shooting opportunities and he probably had as many assists as goals today which is great for us and his development. He’s a tireless runner and covers defensively aswell and a good outlet to drag us up the pitch when we need it. Well done Jack for player of the Tournament ⚽️ Class effort today boys and a fun afternoon of football. Very well done 👏 🔴 ⚫️
