A blast from the past 32yrs ago today I would have been opening that door to go up to work in a little beauty salon called Annette's of York.
Today I'm meeting a dear friend who I worked with 31 years ago at Ragdale and unknowingly she would leave her job in York to work at Ragdale at same time and then we would leave at the same time. Me to do some teaching and she went to work and then own a salon in Australia

Welcome September. Yes I know I'm a day late but doesn't the first of a month always seem to appear so fast?
The 1st of September was a usual busy Sunday where Im a dance mum taxi and chef as I try and make a meal where we actually all sit down together. Added to that I've been having another clear out and decided to build a flat pack set of drawers.

I popped to the cake cupboard this morning . Delicious cakes set out in a little village.
Today had paid for the whole cupboard so any one lucky enough to visit would receive one free cake
I wanted more so paid my full amount so that whatever Tom pops out will still be covered for the amount I had taken.
I love the fact that a little hobby becomes a bit of an enterprise whether it be plants, eggs, honey or cakes.

I have been asked recently Do you still do the heavy leg treatment?

Wow I haven't had such delicious cakes in ages. I chose fruit slice for me and 2 pieces of chocolate brownie for my daughter all for £5. We were both very impressed.

Last year I tried a hyperbaric chamber and didn't mean to leave it so long. Today I've completed 5 sessions close together. I can say my legs are less painful and ankles easier. I probably am sleeping better too.
It's not claustrophobic and I relax with meditation music. If you are used to flying it's almost the same experience with pressure change to ears or like lying in a tent. The staff look after you and take the pressure to your pace
I would say try it, but as with any treatment you do need regular appointments and some sessions are best close together. We all experience something different when we have treatments and sometimes see results taking longer.
Whatever your issues, they won't be cured or resolved overnight and often need top up sessions

Normally I would not comment on what is happening on the news but yesterday and awful event happened that is tragic beyond words.
How did this happen? What was going on in that 17yr olds head?
Parents dropped their children at the dance class summer school for a time of fun, learning a skill and friendship.
This was a place of safety that turned into a nightmare.
I cannot comprehend what that dance family is going through.
For the past 3days I have watched not just my own child perform at a dance festival but others grow and shine from the dance school she belongs but others from different areas.
The talent performed on stage is amazing from the tiny tots to those about to leave for university wether it be to continue in performance or choose another profession.
Dance brings friendship, discipline, confidence, fun and professionalism.
To think those who lost their life will never get to perform and share their love of dance is so very very sad ❤️💜

Paddle boarding was full so had an hour swim. My first ever wild swim in a Lake for many many years. Gorgeous weather and I wasn't cold. Think I deserve a refreshing cider.

July is always a crazy month for me as Naomi has shows and as a Mam I am taxi, butler, costume washer, costume fixer and try and help with chaperone and then it's dance competition over so many days.
Of course she is older and does loads of prep herself but she can't get herself there if it's miles away.
It won't be long before that part of being a Mam will be a distant memory as her next chapter begins and a new door opens for both of us.
During the school holidays I've always had the privilege of being able to reduce working hours or taking that extra time off to help and watch her perform.
The days I work I try to make extra appointments to get everyone in for their own self care but then I have to make that time somewhere to do something for myself.
Recently I have been trying Oxygen Therapy and you are more than welcome to message me to ask any questions about it.
I am not an advocate of exercise... school PE put me off but I have a list of things I want to do and try that get me out in nature, help with health, and keep moving which I do advocate. Being stagnant too long is not good for mind or body at any age.
I have many friends who do the gym, run, and many exercise class but that's just my idea of dred.
However I love water and watch people I know do cold dips, wild swimming. Today in-between dance sections, one of the other 'dance mums' has encouraged me to go for my first wild swim and try paddle boarding.

What a beautiful morning. So glad at last to have sunshine.
I'm not good at extreme cold or excess heat. Both seem to exacerbate my aches and pains which I've lived with for years.
I carry on working with my pains but of course heading into menopause what was once a ni**le starts crescendoing.
I've always looked after my skin and find using Eve Taylor products myself and being able to change my products as needed, I have kept my skin in tip top condition. I have always kept up with a treatment so have regular massage and Reflexology but what I've never been good at is taking extra vitamins and potions, however since the recommendation of sprays I have tried to keep on top of taking Vitamin D.
Recently I was talking to someone who after breast cancer was told by her consultant to take Vitamin D3 and K2.
I read up about it and started taking a spray last week. I've certainly noticed a difference in sleep, and my pains are minimal.
My 85yr old Mam also nagged me to get B complex. Which I now have but still need to be very brave and actually get the tiny tablets down.
I booked a course of Oxygen therapy and just had my 3rd session, 2 more to go and then I'm going to decide wether to continue or if anyone can recommend something else known for it's benefits, please let me know. It has to be unusual, so not a facial or massage but a therapy type treatment.
Each session has been very different and they do recommend so many times a week but I don't feel I fit into a category of client needing it that much. Originally I wanted monthly so may complete the 5 close together and then do monthly along with something else.
