2023 South East Individual Rankings 2023 Junior Race Series rankings for the South East region

Early bird offer available until 20th September for next years Eastbourne Half Marathon. Race date - Sunday 3rd March 0930 on the existing course. Age 17+, prizes for 1,2,3 male & female, age groupers, top age grade % male & female and top youth male & female. Supporting charities St Wilfrid’s Hospice & Chestnut Tree House. £100 cash prize to the fastest time if the course record is broken. Age-Group Champion Pritchard Looks Ahead To Deaflympics Oliver Pritchard overcame a number of challenges as he struck European Triathlon gold in Madrid last month.

Congratulations to all the Bodyworks juniors who took part in the Eastbourne Triathlon / SE junior Tri series this week. Some newcomers doing their first one and some competing for a place in the SE team for nationals in September. Dealing with jelly fish, heat, hills, technical turns it will certainly be a day to remember for all of them. Hard to pick a standout performance as all were so good but my favourite of the day goes to Elliot Guy who was leading the swim & went off course at the end sighting on the wrong beach- he was redirected & swam back on course coming out far off where he was- but he charged out of the sea tripping over his feet in his effort to make up time- he chased really hard on the bike and run giving it his all finishing 4th. Superb attitude in one so young, no tears- no drama just got it done 👏 some were stung by jelly fish, some miscounted laps but everyone dealt with what happened really well- topped the day off joining Isabelle and Lucas to celebrate their birthdays 🥳 great team spirit from you all and thanks to Matt and Dale for putting the event on and ordering sun 🌞and calmer seas 🌊

Elite cup debut to remember for Cook Beth Cook has been one of the up-and-coming stars of the British Triathlon Super Series, becoming Youth A, Youth B and Junior champion as she progressed through the age groups, along with international success.

The 2023 South East Junior Triathlon Series got under way recently with a new event: The Woking Aquathlon. With an age relevant pool swim & tarmac run our younger athletes got the season off to a fine start. Tristar (age 8) William Marsh 3rd in his first ever event, Tristar 1: Elliott Guy 2nd,Oliver Marsh 3rd, Tristar 2: Oliver Brophy 2nd, William Guy 4th, Katie Crewe 4th, Connie Ash 10th, Tristar 3: Rosie Delgado Howell 2nd, Ewan Delgado Howell 3rd, T Crewe 4th, Oscar Fry 8th, Molly Burton 6th, Isabelle Gorrill 9th, Youth: Sophie Burton 1st.

Events for all in the Junior series including The junior Eastbourne Triathlon-from age 8-16 contact us if you’re keen to have a go!! Plenty of group sessions on that will help you get ready for the challenge.

Calling all Juniors - IRC selection events 2023

The IRCs are the Inter Regional Championships that are held annually for TS2 and TS3 aged athletes. Each region (10 plus Wales, Scotland and Jersey) select 4 athletes plus one non-travelling reserve from each age group and gender so 20 triathletes in total. It is a great opportunity for young triathletes to compete against their peers from other regions and gain a great deal from the experience of competition and camaraderie- we aspire to a supportive and fun team environment.

In 2022, the South East team won joint Gold medal at these events and won the Mixed Relay event!

This year the IRCs are being held at Mallory Park, Leicestershire, on the weekend of 9/10 September.

The selection events will be:

Saturday 10th June Eastbourne Triathlon
Sunday 18th June Ocean Lake Junior Aquathlon at Leybourne Lakes, Kent (not yet open to enter)

Athletes wishing to be selected should enter BOTH of these events. The full details of the selection criteria will be finalised over the next couple of weeks but this is the important information so that you can plan ahead.

The Ocean Lake Junior Aquathlon will also be included in the Junior Race Series.
