Always nice to revisit jobs in the different season's. This one, designed by has unbelievable views across to the Pentlands. It wasn't the easiest to build in the depths of winter and the team did well not to call a mutiny.

It's really nice to see it filling up so well with a beautiful planting scheme. Fiona's done the wildlife a favour with this one!

Today we finished this beauty of a wee garden.

It's about as interesting as you can get with a small space. did an unbelievable job coming up with this design. Great fun to build too! (Not so much through the house but you get that in Edinburgh).

Nice to be see the planting going in as it's not something we often we get to do.

Nice wee job to put our minds to.

Client's didnt want to change the layout of the garden, with the main priority re-using as much existing materials as possible.

Unfortunately all the sleepers had fully rotten, but the existing paving was re-used.

Slight alterations to make it safer and user friendly.

It was a tough one for considering the exposure of this site. On a hill, in Scotland, through winter.

However we love the combination of the black limestone with the traditional drystone walling.

Just about managed to finish off this small front garden project for through the wintery showers and sub zero temperatures.

"When you came to see me initially I had been let down by 5 other landscapers so I was very wary of the whole process and regretting my decision to ‘do something with the garden’ … however I am so glad to have found Faodail and delighted with the results. You picked up an intricate design with complex construction and the requirement for a lot of different materials (and skills) with grace and good humour. The talent of the team really shines through when you see the attention to detail in the finished product – offset curves and multiple levels are the obvious challenges, but everything was done with the end result of a fabulous garden in mind – drainage, ongoing maintenance, quality topsoil for the ultimate planting – you didn’t miss a thing. When the work started you were 100% committed with the team on site so the project was completed within the agreed timescales (and price) – and your help with the heavy stuff (rocks!) and fluffy stuff (plants and trees!) was also above and beyond. That level of service is a big deal!

 

Creating this space is a once in a lifetime activity for me – if I could use your company again I most definitely would, but just in case I don’t move house I do want you to know that I will recommend Faodail without hesitation. Back here to spread some bark on the borders and fit some custom rebar brackets to the pergola.. amazing to see it all planted- great effort ! Can’t wait until the plants become established!

The idea was to create a natural pond that promoted wildlife in the garden. A sloping beach and planting pockets throughout, really excited to see how this will mature.
