A New Year update for Lingo Bairns Wednesday playgroup. Our S6 helpers are focused on their prelim exams this month, so we will be closed during January and should be back at the end of the month. Check back here for updates in a few weeks, and stay warm and well ☺️

It’s Christmas, and it’s French week at playgroup! Wed 14th Dec we will be open at the earlier time of 2.30-4.30pm. Drop in for festive sweet treats, Christmas crafts and a few Christmas songs en français. Primary school children are also welcome. 🎄🎅🏽🥳🎶🇫🇷

I think I already mentioned it to everyone last time, but just to confirm there is no playgroup today because Méabh has a special meeting with Santa at her nursery this afternoon! See you next Wednesday for our last playgroup before the Christmas break.

Today is St Andrew’s Day! We will celebrate at Polwarth Church Hall with flag making, Scots rhymes and a Ceilidh dancing game. Bairns and bigger kids welcome 🎶🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Sorry to say that today’s Italian playgroup is not going ahead, but we will hopefully be back on track next week for St Andrew’s day, celebrating with flags and Scots rhymes and maybe even a dance!

This afternoon at playgroup we are listening to this Chinese story about animals and colours, and we will have a sing song in Mandarin too! On our way to Polwarth Church hall now to set up toys and hot drinks on this chilly afternoon.

This afternoon at playgroup we are celebrating the feast of St Martin. Bring the kids along to make a paper lantern and join in a candlelight procession with German music! Polwarth Parish Church 3.15-4.45 pm 😊

Today is Nora’s birthday and we were meant to celebrate with Irish singing at playgroup ☘️ 🎶 BUT life as a teeny tot is tough, and she is celebrating her birthday with a fever, so unfortunately we will have to cancel again 🙁 stay dry and well, and hopefully see you next week.

It’s looking like the first session of our new community playgroup will be on Wednesday 28th September. A little later than planned, but excited to see you there! The first play session will include a Spanish story and song, with more languages to follow in the weeks ahead.

COMING SOON! Wednesday afternoon language and cultural playgroup at Polwarth Parish Church for kids and carers. A different language activity, song or story each week led by our student helpers from local high schools. Drop in on Wed 15.45 - 17.15. £1 donation per family for the church is appreciated.
