We are pleased to share details of a recent job carried out by Runfre Drainage and Pipelines in Edinburgh. Our client was facing a significant issue where water was leaking through their wall, causing it to flow down the steps and onto the footpath. This created a hazardous situation during winter months when the water would freeze, leading to the formation of ice on the footpath.
To address this problem, our team took proactive measures. We constructed a new wall and implemented a double Damp proof membrane using Visqueen and Black Jack. This ensured that the wall would be protected from any future water leakage. Additionally, we installed a comprehensive drainage system to provide a clear route for the water to escape. As part of this system, we incorporated an aco drain to effectively capture any surface water that was flowing down the stairs.
By taking these necessary steps, we were able to not only resolve the water leakage issue but also eliminate the hazard caused by ice formation on the footpath. Our client can now enjoy a safer and more secure environment, free from the worries of water damage and slippery surfaces.
