Aurora Ensemble Edinburgh
Amateur orchestral ensemble aiming to promote classical music written by under-represented composers.
Having put on a fund-raising concert for us in 2018, Tim Espin obviously qualifies as a friend of EYM! It's great that 3 former EYM pupils - Theo (now an EYM student assistant), Angus & Matthew - will be playing in the next concert given by the Aurora Ensemble Edinburgh, the excellent orchestra Tim founded earlier this season. Music by Elgar, Borodin & the lesser-known Morfydd Owen, a Welsh composer who died in 1918 aged 26 and who, according to Tim, wrote beautiful music and would probably have become much better-known if she had lived longer. Sunday June 30th at 7.30 p.m. in Broughton St. Mary's Church.
Two weeks to go!
