This week we have been renewing a poorly repaired roof in portobello . No fault of the clients they thought there roof was getting repaired by previous roofers .
We had to strip the slated elevation and renew with membrane and Spanish slates .
We had stripped and renewed the flat roof using 100mm insulation and a 3 layer of felt system .

Another busy week here for the team this week we have been demolishing unsafe chimney stacks then fitting new sarkin boarding and slating over area . Also creating new openings in a garden wall .

Some weekend work carried out in Balerno this weekend . Recently we have been working overtime to try keep up with the demand . Patch repair soffets ✅

Last month we’ve met a lovely couple from Tranent Fiona and Gerry under bad circumstances. Sadly they had fell victim to a cowboy builder . Who had left there little bungalow in a very poor state . They had built an extension and loft conversions and left a very poor job of building it and trying to make the roof watertight . We have worked closely with Fiona and Gerry and eventually got there roof watertight for the winter and looking good again . We will continue to work with them and help them as much as we can .
The poor workmanship they were left with is documented in the pictures and pictures of it rectified.
Both flat roofs were built with inadequate fall / run . We stripped these and added declevities to form an adequate fall .
Both fire stone roofs were renewed .
New facia boards
New velux flat roof windows
All poor slating and lead work renewed .

Here we have a veranda renewed in portobello this week for a repeat customer . Unfortunately when the client had renovations carried out they weren’t to a good standard . There was no waterproof roof covering underneath the tiles . There was short slates used for patching the slates and slates put in bond on bond with no cover .
