We very much welcomed the invitation to speak at this week’s Cross-Party Group on Social Enterprise at The Scottish Parliament, convened by John Swinney MSP, alongside Neil McInroy and Balerno Village Trust. In addition to highlighting the role Bridgend Farmhouse plays in supporting local economic transformation - alongside our enterprise partners A wee pedal, Trees and Seas Outdoor Adventures and The Very Inclusive Play Club - there was the opportunity to share our model of community ownership. Bridgend Farmhouse Development Coordinator, Claire Wheeler, highlighted the major concern of the lack of available, unrestricted, core funding – vital to ensure that Bridgend Farmhouse can continue its role in creating a thriving community.
