Evening guys! Just a quick update for tomorrow - We will be opening at 9am as usual serving breakfast for both sit-in and takeaway. And at about 11:30am we will switch to our Crab Fair street food menu (takeaway only) for the rest of the day!

This is a WEEKEND PART-TIME role with variable shifts. And the best part is, you’ll be finishing at 3/ 4pm so you’ll still get to enjoy your weekends!

Yesterday was our cafe manager Aaron’s last day with us! To those of you who didn’t know his name, you might knew him as the guy with the beanie that does fancy latte art 😂

Aaron has been an invaluable member of our team and made some fantastic changes since he joined Déjà Brew back in 2021, and we know he will do great wherever he goes! We would like to take this opportunity to wish him all the best as he moves onto a new adventure! 🩵

👑 Denise who we hope is currently enjoying her holiday down on the south coast and not missing her cheese and onion toastie too much.

👑 And finally Joe and Janet (Tom’s parents) of Joe’s Kitchen fame, who we’ve forever got running around after us.

Millionaires Cheesecake in the fridge ready for tomorrow! 🍰 We’ve had to take these down off the website because of how fast they’re selling out. Meaning all of our cheesecakes are currently only available in store. Tomorrow (Sunday) we will have this one below plus our Lotus Biscoff cheesecake pots 🤩

Today is ‘National No Dirty Dishes Day’ 🍽️ 🧽 So if someone could tell Megan when she starts her shift at 11 because she’s been with us for almost a year (233 days to be exact) and she still doesn’t know where the dishwasher is 😂🤭

Anyhow.. We’re all stocked up and ready for another busy couple of days!

What’s a bubble tea? 🧋

We get asked this question everyday and we love talking about it and having you try new things! So let me explain, because I know it can be embarrassing to ask 🫣

If you were to Google ‘What is Bubble Tea’ you’d get 1001 different explanations, so let’s try and explain it once and for all… or atleast explain our version!

Bubble Tea isn’t anything new, despite what you think. We didn’t invent it, tho we wish we did 👀 We might be Cumbria’s FIRST bubble tea cafe, but Bubble Tea actually originated in Taiwan in the early 1980s! Wayyyyyy before any of us at Déjà Brew were even born 👶🏼

Bubble Tea, is known by MANY different names, that’s the most confusing part! Some people call it ‘pearl milk tea’ or ‘bubble milk tea,’ or just ‘milk tea’ or maybe ‘boba tea,’ or even just ‘boba.’ At Déjà Brew we call it Bubble Tea… or Milk Tea 😅

An easy way to think of it, is that it’s a bit like a milkshake.

A Bubble Tea is a tea based milky drink in a choice of flavours that’s usually served cold with ‘bubbles!’ See those black things in the bottom of the cup? That’s ‘Tapioca’ - They are little chewy, brown sugar tasting bubbles/balls/boba (whatever you wanna call them) that you’d traditionally see served with Bubble Tea.

We also have flavoured ‘Popping Boba’ which are similar, but rather than being chewy, the Popping Boba are little flavoured balls of juice in either strawberry, passion fruit, or lychee. These ones ‘pop’ when you bite into them.

You can pair your Bubble Tea with any of our Bubbles.

We have loads of flavoured Bubble Teas to choose from: Strawberry, Mango, Taro, Chocolate, Spiced Chai, Honeydew Melon, Matcha, Coconut and some special seasonal combos that you’ll find in store.

So, let’s say you like the sound of a Mango flavoured Bubble Tea.. A good combination would be a ‘Mango Bubble Tea with Passionfruit Popping Boba’ Or maybe you like the idea of something more traditional like our ‘Taro Bubble Tea with Tapioca’

There’s no right or wrong way to order! Mix and match your Bubble Tea and the Bubbles however you want.
