Last week at Fire&Chill, our young participants showcased their creativity crafting baubles through decoupage and experimenting with a unique twistβhammer, nails, and wool (see photos). Christmas cards were also on the artistic agenda.
In the kitchen, they whipped up unconventional snowflakes with tortilla wraps, icing sugar, and a touch of 'Christmas Magic' (cinnamon)!
Join us this Wednesday at the Social Club hall from 5-7pm for our end-of-term disco! Everyone is invited to bring friends and siblings of youth group age. It promises to be an epic farewell session!
π₯ Another amazing week at Fire&Chill Youth Club! π Our awesome crew indulged in indoor games, park adventures, marshmallow toasting by the fire, and savored scrumptious pasta! πβ¨
π² This week, some budding artists took a swing at crafting name tag necklaces using wood slices. They wielded tools, then adorned their creations with cut and hollowed stylish elder beads. Witnessing their woodworking flair and creativity was truly heartwarming! π¨πΏ
π« Exciting news: Next week is "bring a friend week"! We're flipping pancakes in the kitchen, offering more woodwork opportunities, and all the usual fun awaits! π₯π οΈ Don't miss out on the excitement! π€© π
Weβre in the news guys!!! β€οΈπ₯β€οΈπ₯β€οΈπ₯β€οΈπ₯
Find out more about the Fire and Chill Group. Two speakers gave an "inspiring talk" on youth activities at the Rotary Club of Ely last week.
Had a blast at our Fire&Chill Halloween bash!
ππ₯ Dani's spooky facepaint was a hit, along with a fierce pumpkin carving competition, classic games, and an epic spread of food!
Last week, the weather forced us indoors for jacket potatoes, games, and crafts, but the fun continued as we chilled in the park and on the field. ππ
The Fire&Chill Youth Group is thrilled to unveil our sensational group logo, masterfully crafted by the talented Amelia Short, and our captivating strap line, courtesy of the brilliant Isla Nineham β€οΈπ₯
These remarkable logos are about to grace an array of merchandise for our amazing young members and even our staff uniforms! ππ«
Let's give a huge round of applause to Amelia and Isla for their incredible work! ππ
We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful Nicole Barber, who worked her magic to transform their vision into stunning graphics. ππ»
Stay tuned for more fantastic updates from Fire&Chill Youth Group! ππ₯"
What an incredible half-term it has been for the young people of Fire&Chill youth group!
We've dived into cooking, crafting, playing, relaxing, and learning new skills. See photos for a peek into the action from the past six weeks π₯π.
During this term, we hosted a competition for the youngsters to design a logo and create a strapline. We're delighted to announce Isla Nineham as the winner for her fantastic strapline, "Enriching youth through nature connection," and Amelia Short for her logo design (see photos). Well done girls!!
A special shoutout to , who graced us with insights into graphic design and sparked our creative spirits. Nicole will be creating a digital version of the winning design inc strapline, which we'll use to promote our group and ethos π³π₯.
A big thanks this term goes out to Madlymunch for generously providing prizes for our winners and to for volunteering last week, sharing her artistic talents and inspiring our young members to explore their creativity using driftwood and acrylics (see photos).
***If you have a talent or interest you'd like to share with our young members, please reach out about volunteering on a Wednesday evening to inspire and engage with this enthusiastic bunch!

π₯π³Good morning Parents and Carers βοΈβ‘οΈ
Due to the persistently unfavorable and potentially dangerous weather conditions forecast this afternoon/evening, we've decided to implement 'Plan B.' However, there's a **minor adjustment** to the schedule. Please take note of the following:
π¦οΈ Plan B #2:
The youth group will commence at our regular starting time of **5:15 PM** However, we've extended the end time to **7:00 PM** as the hall can now accommodate this later finish.
π Address:
**Witchford Sports and Social Club, Bedwell Hey Lane, Ely CB6 2JN**
Please remind your young person to bring a coat, as they may still want to enjoy the field or park, even if it's a bit damp. Rest assured, there will be plenty of activities both indoors and outdoors to keep everyone engaged and entertained. π³π₯π
Looking forward to seeing you all later!
Warm regards,
Sarah-Jane, Kerry and and the Fire&Chill Team π§οΈππ«
π₯π¨ Important Fire&Chill Youth Group Update π¨π₯
Hello Parents,
As always, safety is our top priority, and with the weather forcast this week, we've got a Plan B in case of high winds and/or electrical storms. Please take a moment to read the details below:
π§ Plan B:
If needed, the session will be held at Witchford Sports and Social Club. Due to limited hall availability, we'll start the session EARLIER at 5 pm and conclude at 6:30 pm. We'll still have a fire, provided we find a suitable outdoor space without strong winds for our promised banana split cooking.
Activities include games, glitter tattoos, jewelry making, football, and access to the play park and field (pending a continued weather risk assessment).
We'll confirm whether we're proceeding with Plan A or Plan B by 8:30am on Wednesday morning. Your child's safety is our priority, and we'll ensure they have a fantastic time either way!
Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.
Best regards,
Sarah-Jane, Kerry and the Fire&Chill Team π₯π§οΈπ
π₯πΏ This Wednesday we welcome back Fire&Chill Youth Group! π

π Get ready for a fantastic time with activities like water guns, ice lollies, and delicious party food. We'll also be diving into the world of mock-tail making and logo design - it's going to be a blast!
Since the weather is expected to be lovely, warm and sunny, we encourage your children to come dressed in clothes they don't mind getting wet in. We have changing tents on-site for them to freshen up afterward.
π€ We'd love to see some new faces this week, perhaps some of the newly turned Year 6βs!! Just click the link to fill out this form, then turn up with you Β£3 subs any Wednesday π : [Registration Form](https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=DQSIkWdsW0yxEjajBLZtrQAAAAAAAAAAAAZ__phORnJUNTRUUTFVSEYyQTBPWURNSU5HTFEzVVJTRy4u)

Fire&Chill Youth Group Team
Good morning all - this message has been sent to parents of Fire&Chill youth group this morning, posting here incase anyone else planning to turn up or for anyone not on the WhatsApp group!
Unfortunately, we have some disappointing news this morning. After closely monitoring the weather on various apps, we regret to inform you that we must cancel the Fire&Chill session tonight due to the predicted electrical storm. We're absolutely gutted as we were really looking forward to an awesome water fight with the young people!
Playing in the forest during an electrical storm can be dangerous due to several reasons:
1. Lightning strikes: Forests with tall trees provide an elevated target for lightning strikes. If a lightning bolt were to hit a tree, the electrical current can travel through the ground, potentially reaching people or objects in the vicinity.
2. Falling trees or branches: During a thunderstorm, strong winds can accompany the lightning. Trees in the forest may become weakened or damaged by lightning strikes, making them more prone to falling or shedding branches. This poses a significant risk to anyone in the area.
3. Flash flooding: Thunderstorms can bring heavy rainfall, and forested areas are susceptible to flash flooding. The uneven terrain and dense vegetation can obstruct drainage, leading to rapid accumulation of water. This can result in dangerous and fast-flowing currents, making it hazardous for individuals in low-lying areas.
So we just donβt think itβs worth the risk with nowhere to shelter as it passes over π©
However, we promise that when we return on September 6th, the water fight will be the first thing on our agenda! We want to make it extra special for everyone so will still be enjoying βbring and shareβ food spread instead of subs ππ¦β‘οΈ
We want to take this opportunity to wish you and your family an amazing summer holiday. Thank you for all your fantastic support during our pilot program. We have absolutely LOVED getting to know all your young people! Keep those Logo and Strapline entries coming in, can't wait to see you all on the 6th September!
Best regards,
Sarah-Jane, Kerry, Dani, Charlie-May, Zak, Dan and Craig

Fire&Chill youth group are looking for donations of WATER GUNS for some of our summer sessions! If anyone has any to give away or to sell, we'd love to hear from you! We can collect locally :)
We are also looking to find a FRIENDLY RESIDENT along MainStreet nearby The Millennium Wood where we could fill up some water rollers during a session (5:30-7:30 Wednesday nights). Being in the woods, we have no access to water, but we can roll our caravan style containers to homes nearby! (happy to pay ££ for cost of water). Would just be once or twice over the coming weeks.
Thanks loads!
Sarah-Jane, Kerry, Charlie-May, Dani and Zak (Your Fire&Chill team!)
