36 meters long, 2 meters tall at the highest point, and 1.75 meters deep, RSJ and Oak Sleeper Retaining Wall.
Conifer stumps dug/ground out (with a little help) like never seen before; roots fought with and dug out; 100-year-old-plus buried buildings unearthed; overhead power lines brought down by a fallen tree in a storm; an unimaginable amount of wet sticky earth moved by hand (literally at times) 🤲 and even more moved by digger and dumper; even an old ceramic sign dug up; in probably the most inaccessible place imaginable; through one of the wettest Jan/Febs I’ve ever seen!
The job that felt like it would never end!
As the customer stated, 'You must love coming here, it’s like Hotel California, once you're here you never leave' 🤣.
Got it done though, and now for the ground to settle 🙏🏼

Progress so far on the Retaining wall rebuild in Redditch, just the easy bit left now!👍🧱

Full Masonry paint removal, followed by a complete restoration of entire elevation due to 60+ years of bad maintenance and building work including, the patching of lime mortar with cement based mortar🫣 Relatively new extension looks like it was built in adverse weather conditions as mortar showing signs of freeze thaw, extension brickwork built in cement based mortar and without full joints of mortar.
Our job:
Remove masonry paint
Chimney rebuild and servicing
Removal of all mortar (especially anything cement based)
Re-pointed in Lime mortar to a rubbed flush joint finish
Repaint (There is rumour the customer is thinking about not repainting, I hope so🤞🏼, it’s going to look lovely when finished!
