Let's get started on your road to wellness!
Weight gain is often a way to protect ourselves from difficult emotions, such as stress at work or heartache after a breakup. But that extra weight can become an obstacle itself if you're struggling to manage it on your own.
That's why I suggest diving deeper into the underlying causes of these emotional patterns by taking time for visualization exercises and confronting what’s holding us back in life – this will help unlock our body’s true potential so lasting change comes naturally!
Why losing weight the old ways, dieting and excessive exercise don’t work permanently ?🤔
Losing weight through conventional methods such as dieting and excessive exercise don't work in the long term because it fails to take into account the emotional and psychological factors that often contribute to the cause of obesity.
Many times, people use food as a way to cope with stress, anxiety, or depression. Dieting only addresses the physical aspect of weight loss but ignores the emotional aspect. Therefore, when these issues are not addressed, it is more difficult for someone to stick with a diet and ultimately maintain any progress they have made in losing weight.
In addition, extreme exercise routines can also be detrimental because they often require drastic lifestyle changes that may be too challenging for someone to sustain. Not having enough time or energy to commit to an intensive exercise routine can lead to feelings of guilt or shame which can further perpetuate disordered eating habits and unhealthy relationships with food.
Finally, extreme diets can also cause physiological problems due to lack of essential nutrients which can lead to fatigue and poor physical health overall. This is why it is important for individuals seeking permanent weight loss solutions to look at both the physical and emotional components of their situation in order to develop a healthy plan that works for them long-term.
Diets don't work because they do not address the underlying causes of weight gain and difficulty with weight loss.
Dieting can focus on short-term strategies that are not sustainable in the long run, such as cutting down calorie intake, eliminating certain food groups, or taking extreme measures like eating only one type of food.
Dieting also fails to consider factors such as emotional eating and stress, which can be major contributors to weight gain. Dieting often doesn't take into account individualized needs when it comes to nutrition, activity levels, and lifestyle habits.
Additionally, many diets restrict foods without teaching people about healthy alternatives or portion control, making them difficult for people to maintain over the long term.
Lastly, most diets are restrictive by nature and can lead to deprivation, which is linked to increased cravings and binge eating episodes.
It may sound counterintuitive, but it’s true: Hating your body is one of the biggest factors in emotional eating.
Negativity, shame, and hatred rarely inspire people to make long-lasting great changes, especially when it comes to our bodies or our sense of self.
Many people tell me they will stop hating their body after they reach their goal weight. I say : “you have to stop hating your body before you can stop the emotional eating cycle”.
