Harnessing the Power of Emotion in Singing Teaching
🗓️ Tuesday 10th December 2024
⏰ 8pm - 9pm

FREE FOR MEMBERS
We all know that emotion is a powerful thing. For many, it’s what brings them to music. But how do we use it with our singers? And is it a help or a hindrance? This session is an hour’s online workshop for singing teachers, trying out some exercises and tips for harnessing emotion with singers. Although Louisa is more experienced in working with Musical Theatre performers and Actor-Singers, the techniques can be applied to all genres.

So lucky to be able to pop down to the beach after work in the summer months 🏖️
It’s been another busy day for the council meeting. Tomorrow’s presenter lineup is looking pretty fabulous!
Busy getting set up in this rather lovely venue for this evening’s singing gig 🎤🎵🎶
Lovely to receive this feedback on a course I delivered last week!
My love of learning continues. Thank you to Voice Study Centre. The "Emotion in the singing voice" course I attended last week was fabulous and I know I will use so much of the content on a personal and professional level. The research and delivery were so valuable, thank you.
Looking forward to delivering this taster session for Voice Study Centre alongside my colleague Joseph Griffiths-Bloor - Voice & Dialect Coach later this month. Come along if you’re interested in dipping your toes in the world of phonetics, accents and dialects 💬
Interested in adding phonetics and accent work to your portfolio? 💬
What the course will cover:
🔹Phonetics basics
🔹Brief introduction to IPA
🔹Introduction to accent work
What you will take away:
🔹Appreciation of how accessible accents & phonetics can be
🔹Tools to start integrating accents & phonetics into your work
🔹Some great resources for you to take this further if you’d like
🔹A taster of the work we’ll be doing in the 8-week course
In the Autumn, VSC will be launching an eight-session course on accents and phonetics, so this taster session could provide a brief insight into the kind of work we will be exploring, or it could be a stand-alone session to help you learn a little more about working with the spoken voice in this way.
