Today I had my first student for her brow tint and shaping course. She absolutely blew me away. She has never done any waxing or brows before and she was such a natural.
I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed teaching, I was a little nervous this morning but the second we started it all came so easy and we had a such a great day together. She’s just booked her lamination course with me too.

The face behind the business.
Hello, I’m Becky, the trainer at The Beauty Room Academy.
I wanted to come on and introduce myself and put a face to the name.
I’ve been a beauty therapist for nearly 20 years (yes I’m that old)
I went to East Devon College in 2004 and completed my NVQ level 2 and 3 there. I worked in several salons and spas before opening my salon in 2015.
I absolutely love all aspects of beauty and I am so passionate about my job, I truly see it more like a hobby and I feel so lucky to do what I love for a living.
I constantly update my skills and go on training to ensure my knowledge is up to date and my treatments are in line with the trends.
Becoming a trainer has been a dream of mine for years and I can’t quite believe I’m finally here. I have so much experience and knowledge to share and I can’t wait to start training students.
I can train you from scratch, update your skills or add things to your treatment list.

It’s been a looooong time coming. Life got in the way after lockdown was lifted and unfortunately, it was my course that was put on the back burner.
I have now completed all my theory modules and only have my micro-teach left to submit.
I am so excited to finally get started on my teaching journey and pass my knowledge on to students.

This is my amazing team. With them by my side, I feel I can take anything on. Being surrounded with their passion, drive, loyalty, dedication and love of their job really gave me the push to start my training.
We love every part of our job. Every day is different and at the end of every week, we look back knowing we’ve made so many clients feel good about themselves.
Now I’m looking forward to helping people on their journey, becoming the best beauty therapist they can be.
All I need from you is passion and a willingness to learn. I truly believe anything can be taught, as long as you have love for what you do, you will become great at it.
The saying is so true, love what you do and you’ll never work a day in your life.

The training will take place at The Beauty Room on a 1to1 basis. You will have a workbook and will be trained in all aspects of your chosen course. After completing your course you will receive a certificate.
All courses are accredited by ABT [associated Beauty Therapist] this will enable you to gain the right qualification and obtain the correct insurance.

6 years ago I had a beauty bed in my spare room and a handful of clients.
I dreamt of having my own salon but always thought it was out of reach, just a dream.
Then the salon went from strength to strength and I dreamt of being a trainer, again just a dream right?
Work hard, wing it, make mistakes, fix them, make more mistakes, set goals, smash them and always chase that dream!!

I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Becky and I’m a beauty therapist with 17 years experience behind me. I absolutely love what I do, I have so much passion for every aspect of beauty therapy.
I’ve had my own salon for over 5 years now.
Having to take several months off this year due to lockdown, it gave me so much more time to learn and study, so now it is the perfect time to take the next step. I’ve dreamed of becoming a trainer for years, it excites me, I can share my knowledge and enthusiasm with likeminded people. I’ve been told so many times over the years that my passion is contagious and my love for the job shines through.
I have a great company behind me, who will produce your manuals and certificates, all of their courses are accredited by the ABT, this will enable you to gain the right qualification and obtain the correct insurance.
I deliver the courses to you, in my beautiful salon in Exmouth. My passion and knowledge, combined with my patience and love of my job, will give you the best learning experience and
with the right tools, you can achieve anything

So, here it is......
I am starting up a Beauty Academy. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for such a long time but always put it off due to not having the time and lack of confidence.
Since March last year I’ve worked a lot on myself (cheesy I know) I’ve read books and taken classes, in doing so, not only do I finally feel I can run my business (not just wing it) it’s given me the confidence to do something I’ve always dreamed off.
I am now in the process of completing my qualification and I will be able to deliver short courses in all aspects of beauty and I will be there to guide and mentor you and help you in every way I can. We can update your skills if you are already trained in beauty and want a refresh, add new treatments to your treatment list or even if you are completely new to beauty and want to start a new career.
I’ve still got a way to go, as there is a lot of training to do on my part. Eventually I will be able to teach NVQs but this is going to be much further down the line. I can’t wait to share my knowledge and passion with likeminded people.
Thank you all for supporting my dream to this point, it’s because of you all, I can start this next chapter.
I will continue to work from the salon, you can’t get rid of me that easily, I absolutely love doing treatments so I will still be a therapist too, it’s just the next step forward for me and the business.
