For any malt whisky lovers out there, why don’t you pop into The Corbie Inn to enter the raffle for the last of our bottles of 13 year old AnCnoc Highland single malt at 59.2% cask strength! There were only 210 bottles produced, so it is rare.

All of those periodically raffled, were kindly donated by Alan Gilbert, with the proceeds in aid of Bo’ness Car 4U; your local cancer patient free hospital transport service. Tickets are only £5.00 each and there are only 25 tickets, so £125 will be raised.

We would like to offer huge thanks to Gail and the team at The Corbie Inn, for their amazing support to Bo’ness Car 4U over the last 3 years. Thank you on behalf of our Volunteers and the patients who have benefitted from our service. 👏👏

URGENT REQUEST FOR HELP- PLEASE READ. This 1 minute video provides more information.

We are in desperate need of 1 or 2 people to join our group of Volunteers, not as a driver, but as one of our small team of COORDINATORS. This would be for 10 days a month on a rota basis, working from home in your own time, to allocate drivers for our free cancer patient transfer service. Whilst the majority of our Volunteers drive patients to their appointments, we need to expand our team of Coordinators to maintain this vital service for patients in Bo'ness, Blackness and Philpstoun. Can you please spare some time to help? By sharing this message to your own contacts we will reach a wider audience and may secure some willing helpers.

Contact details for more information are:

Thank you.

Congratulations to everyone in Bo’ness Car 4U on this award, not just those in the photograph last night. It also includes those locally who support us in many ways periodically, and specifically Frank Rooney at Hope St Café, who has kindly facilitated our regular meetings. We thank you all. 👏👏
To the kind people of Bo’ness, please keep spreading the word to friends, colleagues and family, that we provide free hospital transport for cancer patients, which can considerably reduce the stress of getting to appointments.

Many congratulations to Dawn Doran, who has just raised a final total of £ 1263 for our charity, either directly or in donations following publication of this article in the Bo’ness Journal on 29 March. This is an excellent achievement and will be put to good use transferring local cancer patients to their consultations and treatments.

We are always looking for volunteers to help with occasional driving, or with fundraising and Admin. Contact details are in the last 2 paragraphs of the article. Thank you Dawn, and all those who continue to support Bo’ness Car 4U. 👏👏 Please feel free to share. Ps Tap to open.

We still need volunteers! Do you have any spare time to help? Get in touch if you do!

We just want to thank everyone for enabling us to:

1. Complete 652 drives, including route training for our volunteers, pilot drives prior to full go-live and drives to hospitals across Central Scotland.

2. Cover a total of 27,076 miles driving patients to their appointments.

3. Reach our 3rd birthday of full operation in January 2024.

Thank you one and all for your kind and generous donations, and special thanks to our team of Volunteers👏👏💜

Just a little ‘End of Year Review’ from our Bo’ness Car 4U family of volunteers. During 2023 we helped 29 new patients in addition to those previously referred. Our drivers carried out 302 drives, involving 16,157 miles. This wouldn’t have happened without the commitment of our Duty Coordinators, Drivers and Management Team, who have been amazingly generous with their time. However, more importantly, it would not have been possible without the funds to run the service. A huge ‘THANK YOU’ to everyone who has donated money to us over the year. Your contributions are truly valued, as they are essential in maintaining the future sustainability of the service for our local people. 👏👏

23/12/2023

Congratulations Margaret, and thank you once again Alan Gilbert for the very generous donation to support Bo’ness Car 4U.👏👏

And the winner is…………Margaret Fleming! Congratulations to you, we hope you enjoy your prize!
Thanks to everyone who entered.

For anyone who is thinking of donating to a local charity this Christmas, perhaps in lieu of sending cards, please consider Bo’ness Car4U, your free cancer patient transport service, as one of your options. Thank you.

04/10/2023

This is the free support we provide for cancer patients registered in Bo’ness. Can you help with some time as a volunteer driver, or with administration as one of our rota coordinators? Details are on the last slide of this very short video.

27/07/2023

We are looking to the Bo’ness community to help. Demands for our service, to provide free hospital transport for cancer patient appointments, is growing. Based on the first 7 months of this year, analysis shows that we are likely to have increased our patient numbers by the end of December by around 50%. We need to continuously raise funds to maintain this valuable service, but also, we need to increase our group of volunteers.

Are you able to help on a weekday or weekend, as a volunteer driver? It can be on an ad hoc basis when you are free to take on a drive and not to a set timetable. Or, do you have the time to help out with our Administrative team by joining our team of Coordinators, who liaise with our patients to arrange transport? This is done on a rota basis and can be done during the day or on an evening.

Help us build this service to one that can be maintained indefinitely, for those families in our community who need our support.

For information please call 07716 378950 or email [email protected].

22/06/2023

Could you help us with some time please? We always welcome new occasional volunteer drivers to help local cancer patients, but we are specifically looking to enhance our team of coordinators to book runs to meet our patients’ needs.

Please call 07716 378950 or email [email protected]. Thank you.
