The surgery will be closed tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday 12th June from 13.00-18.30. This is for staff training an NHS England requirement. Please ensure you collect any dispensed medications 💊 prior to 13.00, as the dispensary will be closed until 8.30 Thursday morning. Please call 111 or visit an Urgent Care Centre is you require medical help- go to A&E if an emergency.

We would like to provide you with an update about the merger of Devon Road and Braeside Surgeries. Firstly, after much discussion, we have decided on a name for our joint practice

- River Darent Medical Group (RDMG)

The River Darent is common to all villages of our combined catchment area and we felt this was a good representation of our union.

As a reminder, both branches will remain open but will be operating as one Practice organisation. We have been working strenuously to unify operations, systems, processes and protocols across both sites to ensure the patient journey is the same at both sites.

You might start to notice changes- from the 2nd April as Doctors begin to work at both branches. You will be offered appointments at either site with all Doctors. However, if you wish to be seen by a particular Doctor at a certain site, we will do our best to accommodate this, please make this clear when using eConsult or requesting an eLite. That being said, you may be seen sooner if you can be flexible about site/clinician. All clinicians will have access to your medical records at both sites.

As a merged practice, we will be able to book you in with our new extended range of clinicians - this includes:

Primary Care Paramedics

Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) who can prescribe

First Contact Physiotherapists (FCP)

Physicians Associate (PA)

Our Patient Navigators in conjunction with the duty GP will triage all eConsults and eLites and ensure you are directed to the most appropriate clinician in the most suitable timeframe.

Both telephone numbers remain the same and in operation, both with access to the same appointments. We hope to have a new River Darent Medical Group website up and running at the beginning of April.

As of 1st April 2024 Braeside Surgery will be merging with Devon Road Surgery. Whilst we will continue to keep our individual site names, together we will be known as River Darent Medical Group.

Our IT system is being updated this week. This should not cause any major disruption but we would encourage patients to allow extra time for prescription requests over the next week.

The surgery will be closed from 1pm on Thursday 22nd February for staff training which is a requirement of NHS England. We will reopen at 8am Friday morning.

With effect from Monday 4th March 2024 Braeside Surgery is changing the way we operate our GP booking system. We will be using eConsult which is an online consultation tool.
