House Treat Games Afternoon.
P5/6 and P6/7 had a visit from Jamie and Audrey from the Scottish Fire and Rescue service today. We were learning how to help an unconscious casualty who is not breathing!
We were learning how to check the casualty, call for help and use CPR. We were told the Ap What three words is useful to give a location.
You use the heel of your hand, straight arms and press 1/3 of the depth on the middle of the chest. The middle of the chest is if you imagine a line between the ni***es and a line from your chin to your belly button - the point the two lines meet is the middle. Speed is important, we used a 1-2, 1-2 count for 30seconds then swapped with our partners. It was hard work. You can use the songs Staying Alive, Nellie the Elephant or Baby Shark to help keep timing.
P6/7 rehearsing our tuned percussion for the performance on Friday. We hope you can come along.

We are very clear on our next steps for after the summer. Please watch their film to learn about the UNCRC articles we have been learning about in school.
