Sandy Paw Lodge

As many of our friends and followers might already be aware, we have had to close our doors with immediate effect, while we navigate a behavioural issue between our two spaniels.

The wellbeing and happiness of the dogs in our care is of paramount importance to us - both lodgers and our own alike.

We are working hard with the wonderful Pippa at Best Behaviour to better understand this situation and find a solution, and hope to welcome enquiries again in the New Year.

In the meantime, we truly appreciate the understanding of our lovely clients, and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause 🖤

After long conversations about the deep understanding and connection we each share with our own dogs, Sandy Paw Lodge were fortunate to receive Guardians of Being, as a gift, from a very considerate and warm-hearted friend of ours 🎁

The book perfectly puts into words so many of our thoughts and beliefs on the unspoken bond we have with our dogs; and we are touched by such a kind and thoughtful gesture 🥰

It’s important, in this warm weather, to provide dogs with stimulation and enrichment as an alternative to exercise 🐾

After all, a good sniff or solving a puzzle can be even more beneficial than a long walk!

Some of our recent Lodgers loved using our slow feeders and having to figure out how to get their food 😋

Midway through his recent stay with us, Pip began to show signs of homesickness 😢

But, after consulting his adoring owners, we were able to settle him with extra cuddles, some training for stimulation, and our secret weapon - Classical music! 🎻

Before long, Pip was relaxed and chilled, and back to his normal self 🥰

This energetic young dude gave even Bali and Benji a run for their money when he stayed with us recently 😅

It was lovely to see Pip so happy, healthy and full of life 🥰

It took a minute for Otis and Hattie to come out of their shell, but it was wonderful to see their personalities shine once we got to the beach 🥰☀️

We waited patiently for the rain to stop long enough for a walk, only for the heavens to open five minutes later 🌧️🙄

Luckily, we were able to seek refuge under a bus shelter before racing home to get dry 😅

We all loved having this little madam, Dory, visit us recently 🥰

A tiny little bundle of love and excitement, Dory instantly stole our hearts and we can’t wait to see her again! 😊

Cozy afternoons with Yoshi and Soba 🥰

Last week, we were introduced to Toast - a charming and cheeky young man whose owner needed a last-minute boarding solution, and we were more than happy to oblige! 🏡

Toast was an instant hit with Bali and Benji, who welcomed him as an honorary spaniel for his stay 🥰

We recently had the pleasure of this handsome young man's company 😊

Loki, a Podenco, was shy at first, but soon made his presence felt with his gentle and loving nature ❤️
