A message from our Year 6 students about today's Uniform Swap Shop.
Comic Relief: This was no ordinary Monday at St Mary’s, in fact far from it! Today was the day we found out how much water Mrs Wolfram and Mr Russell were going to have tipped over their heads! With your help, we raised the amazing total of £328 which equalled 6 buckets of water (although we may have rounded that up to 7 buckets but don’t tell anyone!) The children were super excited and couldn’t wait for Mrs Wolfram and Mr Russell to get wet. After counting down from 10 to 1 the soaking began. What a fun and memorable start to the week. Thank you to everyone that donated to Comic Relief and a huge thank you to Mrs Wolfram and Mr Russell for being such good sports.
Year 1- Fire of London: As part of their History project this term, Year 1 have been learning about London landmarks and looked at The Monument to the Great Fire of London. This led them to learn all about The Great Fire in London which started in a bakery in Pudding Lane over 350 years ago. The children were very interested by the story and recalled many facts about it which they shared during a quiz against the teacher (the children won!) After, the children wanted to sing and perform the song 'London's Burning' which was written about this historic event.
Global Council- Key Stage 1: Today, we talked about deforestation and how it is a cause of climate change (SDG13). We found out how this affects our adopted orangutan 'Agop' in Borneo. We have made a short film about this using the masks we made last term. ORANGUTAN APPEAL UK
