How to get the most from your garden 👇 The most useful tip I can give anyone looking to improve their garden is to divide and conquer. The biggest mistake us Brits make with our garden's is to plant around the border and we'll that's it really, isn't it? Break the cycle and carve up your garden into 2,3 or 4 zones and suitably screen off with planting, walling, fencing, you name it. This medium to large garden uses a fireplace to separate the spaces, and allows the client to use their garden in more ways. Forget location, location, location, it's all about destination. ✨ If you can see your whole garden from one view point then you don't have a destination worthy of your time. The problem with this is you'll only ever use 50% of your garden (tops!) what a waste. Top tip: add at least 1 more zone into your space (doesn't have to be right at the back) and find an exciting way to travel there, be it stepping stones, a gravel garden or even a bridge. In readiness for next week's #childrensmentalhealthweek - a topic very dear to my heart. I thought I'd share one of my favourite kid-friendly gardens. Many parents and carers believe they have to wait until their children get bigger before they can have their dream garden. This truly saddens me not only because they have to miss out, but their children do too. 😔 It's a common misconception that children prefer just a lawn so they can kick a ball around, but in reality where do you see your children at their happiest? Answer: exploring. Our babes are natural explorers and the more they explore the more they use their imagination, improve their attention spans and get better at entertaining themselves. The garden is the perfect answer to achieve all the above.
