Why Bridge House Pilates?

BHP was created when we moved to Frome, Somerset and into Bridge House. It seemed kismet that the namesake of our house included one of my favorite Pilates moves, the bridge. So important for back health. Raise your arms overhead and spine curl down for a lovely back stretch as well.

I hold 1-1s and small group classes here, so look for the Bridge House brass plaque out front if you’re visiting!

👋 Hey y’all! I just wanted to introduce myself for those new followers.
I’m Meaghan, a Pilates teacher based in Frome, Somerset, England. Although I’m originally from Texas so don’t be thrown by the accent!
I offer group classes and 1-1s in this lovely yellow studio (and a few up at RISE).
My specialisms include prenatal, postnatal, lower back pain and osteopenia / osteoporosis.
I came to Pilates because of back pain due to scoliosis and have never looked back (pun intended)!
I spent a decade as a desk jockey which only made my back pain worse, so I also offer 30 minute Desk Pilates and Ergonomics Workshops to get your teams moving virtually or IRL in Bath / Frome.
AND coming soon - a 6 week online, on-demand postnatal course.

A reminder from Evie and I to add some side bends to your day for a healthy spine.
We spend lots of time in the saggital plane (think moving front and back) so why not add some rotation and side bending in to allow your spine to move in ALL the different planes for a healthy back.

Pilates Community Social at the weekend had me feeling all the feels. 🥰
It’s hard to believe that I started teaching in Frome last May! I feel so supported and welcomed by this lovely community of people. I get to work with some amazing folks and share in the sheer joy of touching toes or rolling like a ball for the first time 🤸‍♀️
It can be odd to shift from working 9-5 M-F, to teaching mostly in the evenings. What do you do with your daytimes? Someone made a great point at the weekend - do something for yourself! So this past year I’ve tackled tons of books, tended the garden and indulgently caught up on TV shows.
Feeling very content 😌

Can highly recommend Frome to Radstock via the Colliers Way for a bike ride 🚴 especially when the autumn sun is on point👌

I’ve been trying to incorporate more cardio because even as a Pilates teacher I forget to look after myself sometimes!

Why not try incorporating a walk, bike, hike, swim, row, run, dance into your week. It does wonders for low back pain to add even short strolls each day (and of course Pilates!) It’s all about variety and finding movement that you love 🥰 so exercise doesn’t feel like a chore 🤸‍♀️
