We have been alerted to a Facebook scam about a Christmas Fair being held at Frome Town Hall on 2 and 3 November. The 'organiser' is asking for local businesses and charities to get in touch to secure a stall. This is a scam and we have reported it.

We wanted to take this opportunity to remind people that scammers use fake profiles and misleading posts to solicit money and personal information from unsuspecting individuals. They often create a sense of urgency to trick people into responding quickly without thinking. Here are a few key tips to protect yourself:

‼️ Verify profiles: Before engaging with someone online, check their profile for signs of legitimacy such as mutual friends, authentic posts, location etc.

‼️ Never share personal information: Be cautious about sharing your personal details or financial information, especially with someone you don’t know well.

‼️ Report suspicious activity: If you encounter any suspicious profiles or posts, please report them to Facebook immediately.

It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to cancel the Market on Sunday. We've never had to do this before, but with gusts of up to 47mph forecast, along with heavy rain, sadly we have no choice.
