Hey everyone, I hope you're all enjoying this big dose of sunshine we're getting here in the UK 🌞

This is a little update to let you know that I've made some changes to my online bookings. For a while I've wanted there to be a clearer option at the point of booking for clients to specify what kind of treatment their body needs.

Working with intention is a huge part of my practice. Knowing prior to treatment if you're looking for a soothing session to de-stress and switch off (rather than some of the more intense deep-tissue techniques) allows me to tailor your sessions to exactly what you need.

Regular clients will know how much I love blending the world of holistic massage with specialized sports techniques; using deeper work to create long-lasting change, without missing out on the relaxing element of a treatment. For those that love a combined approach, don't worry - your treatments won't change! Every treatment can be adapted for you and your body.

If you've any questions about any of the treatments on offer, please feel free to get in touch.

Hey online world, it’s been a minute.

I am bursting with excitement to announce that I am now qualified in Sharon Wheeler’s ScarWork.

This is my second time training with the wonderful Jan from and founder of

And, the second time I’ve had to pick my jaw up off the floor seeing some incredible work unfold. Moreover - the impact it has on the individual both physically, and emotionally.

I want to say a huge thank you to my clients that volunteered as case studies as part of this course, allowing me the huge honor of working on their scars (and allowing me permission to share the following photos ➡️).

I was amazed to witness the changes and shifts within the tissue from such a gentle approach. It is a huge reminder that no matter how old a scar may be - be it surgical or from an injury - our tissue is still very much alive and able to adapt to light touch, care, listening and intention.

Some key reminders I have taken away from this approach are:

- Less is more
- If you’re unsure what the next step is - go lighter, and listen
- Follow the tissue. It knows it’s way home.

I can’t really put into words the joy of being in a room full of other therapists who share my love of the human body. Who view and understand it in the same miraculous way as I have come to know over the last 10 years. The science behind how we approach the body and its response to therapy is ever changing, and I know I will never stop learning.

If you would like to know more about ScarWork or have a scar (no matter how small!) and are curious about how it may be effecting your body’s movement and functionality, please feel free to get in touch.

I will offering some introductory prices this April for anyone who’s interested. If cost is an issue, do drop me message as I would like to make this work as accessible as possible.

Roll on spring 🌹🌱🌞🌸🌺🌷🌼

Pretty proud to have finally framed this….I am officially a Level 5 Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist! 🙌🏆❤️🎉

thank you for your incredible guidance and support over the past year. The quality of tutorage was superb and I’m massively be grateful to be taking everything I’ve learned into practice everyday.

I’m now back in the treatment space after a much needed break with my boy for the summer.

…..kinda ready for it to not be massaging in 30 degree heat anymore though🔥😂🥴🫠

Well, 1 week on and I'm just about recovered from the post-Glasto reality crash.

The blues hit SO HARD this year. I think I broke my brain’s happy regulators. Am solidly reminded my favourite place to be is in a field with friends and no plans but to dance for 4 days.

I also had the chance to chat to the lovely team up at about offering massage with them next year. It's been a dream of mine to massage at festivals ever since I first qualified nearly 10 years ago. Bout time I got on it! Working Glasto as a therapist would be the ultimate.

Huge, huge thank you to all my clients for your patience whilst I had some much needed time off 🙏 Definitely learnt over the years to give myself a few days of headspace post-party before diving back into life. The laundry alone throws me into existential crisis 🥴

Feeling more than ready now to get back into the treatment space 🙌

Lil heads up - I have a bundle of appointment spaces available coming up. These get snapped up pretty quick so swipe 👉 to have a looksee if any dates/times work for you.

If interested in booking a treatment, please message or call on 07706777712.

Big love.

Have had a bunch of enquiries about why my next availability wasn't until May (PSA - the website isn't broken. I'm just crazy busy atm!) so I've had a wiggle about with my diary - here's some new spaces now available to book.

Early March I am taking some time off to prepare for my Sports & Remedial Massage exam (slightly crapping it. also going to EXPLODE WITH JOY once this is all over) then taking a couple weeks off over Easter for some well deserved family time.

Bookings can be made up top 👆 or at www.shanthi-massage.co.uk

Hey online world. Hope you’ve all had a lovely start to the year and are keeping as toasty as poss as we step fully into this sub-zero UK winter ❄️

As I near the end of my training as a Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist and look back on my 5 years of massage, I’ve now recognized the need to increase the cost of my services to reflect my expertise and quality of care. I’ve always wanted to keep my prices competitive and accessible, yet over the past few months with the insane cost of living, this ambition has been at the cost of supporting my own home.

From May 2023, these changes are as follows:

1hr treatment………………£55
1.5hr treatment……………£70
2hr treatment………………£90
90min fascial unwinding..£70
60/90min pregnancy……..£55/70

Concessionary prices will still be available to those on income support.

From May, a new option will also be available to pay for treatment packages for those interested in a series of treatments (swipe for more info).

I will also be (hopefully!! 🤞🙈) fully qualified as a Sports Massage Therapist from May so will be offering sports/remedial specific work from then. Bit excited.

Thanks so much for your understanding. I can’t explain how much I appreciate the ongoing support and trust of all my clients. I hope to see you in the treatment space again soon.

Sometimes I finish a day seeing clients, close the door and think fu***ng YES that was a good day. When every single client leaves feeling happy and nurtured, looser and lighter and I wanna do a stupid little happy dance all around the house because THATS what makes this job so damn rewarding.

My Sports Massage course has had me on the brink of insanity trying to juggle work, study time and single Mum-ing but it’s been so so worth it. I’m in awe of a lot of the techniques I’m bringing into treatments and how quickly they can create a positive change in the body - but most importantly, my clients are feeling it too. YES 🙌

Today I’ve worked on helping calm a clients limbic system to assist with chronic pain in her arm, assist with realigning a twisted pelvis, working with fascial meridians to relieve lower back pain, lengthening tight hamstrings for a cyclist and assist with chronic jaw discomfort from stress.

So many of these conditions I would have been less certain how to approach 12 months ago. Now my brain is bursting with all the possibilities of what’s happening.

Still 4 months to go at college and a lifetime ahead of learning 🧠

My books are now closed for the rest of 2022 but if you’d like to get in touch for an appointment, I have availability from February 2023 onwards 🙌

17/08/2022

Chocolate and copious amounts of tea may well be the only thing getting me through this course.

Plus, all the lovely people who have volunteered their bods for me to prod about. You diamonds.
A lot of the approaches and techniques I've been introducing are pretty outside my comfort zone, so thank you for putting up with my awkward posture assessments and frantic flipping of notes.
I never knew meticulously looking at knees was a viable career choice but - here I am.
KNEES GALORE.

Also, turns out my superpower is I can make a 10min write up take THREE HOURS.

ADHD hyperfocussing kicked in enough? You bet.

Ready for my last day of treatments before we're off to Pilton 🎪🎶🌟🏕

Day 15 of chicken pox 🤒

Huge thanks to everyone for being so patient and understanding with the recent cancellations.

Am opening up some more availability wherever I can as bookings are currently full until the end of July. I'll be in touch if anything earlier becomes available 🤞

In the meantime, if anyone has any tips for helping chicken pox scars heal, would be massively appreciated - boyo got it preeeeetty bad.

Right. Gotta get back to convincing my son we can't build a fire in the den.

My absolute favourite. Night sky has seriously put on a show tonight. Been going strong for over an hour. First flicker of light and I'm sprinting to the front door, stood in the garden, eyes to the sky, whacked the dressing gown off and felt the rain on my skin. Electric. Alive. Cleansing off all the crap of the day (there was a lot today) and praying a) the neighbours dont get strobes of my b***s and b) I dont get struck by lightning. Both would be bad starts for a Monday.

Hello estranged online world.

Am excited to say that I've recently begun my studies in Level 5 Sports & Remedial Massage at the Bristol College of Massage & Bodywork.

Holistic massage has been an amazing journey of discovery these past few years. Witnessing how an awareness-centered approach to bodywork can instigate healing on every level, assures me I will always approach every treatment with a sense of treating the mind, soul, and body as one.

After years of seeing a vast array of symptoms, injuries and physical conditions my mind has so many questions and curiosities about how the body works. As a therapist, I want to empower my clients to use their body to it's fullest potential, pain-free, and connected to a sense of home within it.

So I'm riding the new-beginning high atm and throwing myself into home study every spare moment I get. (because juggling self-employment, co-parenting, a relationship, some vague social life, laundry and my sanity wasnt enough - clearly!)
.......and I'm a sucker for 🌈📚📑

Little heads up - I'll be looking for case studies from June onwards. Keep an eye out for requests and DM me if you'd be interested

(hard ask, but someone's gotta do it)

Peace. Anna ❤

Am still feeling the effects from an incredibly powerful Shiatsu treatment with earlier this week. How serene is this beautiful treatment space?

Ymi is an immensely gifted practitioner who I’ve had the pleasure of knowing for over 10 years. We often exchange treatments, and it’s been fascinating to observe how both of us have witnessed an increased level of receptivity in our work together.

It’s my belief that the level of comfort you feel with a therapist has a significant impact on the treatment itself. Of course, this level of comfort can be instantaneous, or it may be something that gradually develops over time, like any relationship. However, once that sense of familiarity is established; through feeling heard, emotionally held and – most importantly – safe, I believe this effects how the body responds and assimilates the work taking place, both consciously and subconsciously.

You may be thinking, well – what does that look like? HOW do I know if my body has responded?

At the beginning of each treatment, I encourage clients to check in with their body by drawing their awareness inwards and scanning through from head to toe. This provides a base level of how you are feeling within yourself. During treatment, I encourage an open communication, so if anything comes up – be it a physical sensation or emotional one – the client is able to share this if drawn to do so.

Physical touch will instigate a response in the body, even if you’re unaware of it. Our skin is the largest organ and touch will inevitably affect every system within the body. Muscle-release techniques in massage feel very tangible and so when receiving this you are aware of a physiological affect taking place. However, there are some responses that are more subtle than others.

During treatment, I encourage clients to use their awareness (or ‘mind’s eye’) to drop into a space where any sensations are happening in the body – this could be tingling, buzzing, warmth, cold, or even a sense of numbness. However slight – these are powerful tools to check in with. Particularly with an area you are struggling to gain connection with. Why could that be?

Developing curiosity of sensation is an especially powerful tool. What happens when your awareness lingers in that area a bit longer?

In my own experience, it’s taken practice to allow my awareness to sit with a sensation and really become aware of any subtle movements, shifts or changes.

This can be in the tissue itself (such as the sense of relief in a muscle) or it could be the urge to suddenly take a deep breath in and release, or feel a sudden rush of warmth.

Other responses can include the urge to allow involuntary movements such as twitching, shaking, or twisting a part of the body. All these physiological occurrences indicate a response happening.

And if it feels good – then it is good. If the body wants to move, 100% roll with it.

Sometimes if we allow ourselves to follow these subtle movements (rather than restrict them), they can allow for additional shifts in the body, even in an emotional sense. A feeling or thought may arise, this in turn may provoke an emotion or a sound. Every response is welcome. Every movement has meaning. Every feeling is valid.

In this busy world, we rarely make the time to check in with our inner world. Really check in. Just as there is an external world around us to explore, I believe there is an internal world to tap into and discover. For a deeper sense of self, a sense of wholeness, a place of refuge and to acknowledge any areas that may be longing to be seen or healed.

I believe body therapy in any form is a wonderful tool to help access this world. Finding a therapist that provides you a safe space to explore your inner landscape can be an amazing thing.

Ymi, I am deeply grateful and in awe of the work that you do 🌌

This is the face of someone who is ridiculously proud to say she is now 100%

If someone had said to me 10 years ago that I'd one day be running my own massage business, I'd have said......well....not much. Probably just laughed awkwardly and assumed they were a bit mental.

But - here I am. Heart full. Beyond happy to be doing this for a living. Genuinely feel like pinching myself somedays when setting up my treatment space. I don't know how I got this lucky but, I'm here for it. Constantly learning. Constantly in awe of what I witness and feel happening in each and every body. It's a genuine privilege to share that with my clients.

I cant say it enough so THANK YOU to everyone who has come through my door, trusted me with their healing journey, given invaluable feedback, recommended me to others and ultimately allowed me to find my as a therapist - deepening my practice in ways I couldn't have dreamed of. Each of you have been a part of that. So - thank you.

Hey online world, it's been a minute.

Since reopening in the Spring, my treatment space has been filled with so many wonderful clients and I'm humbled to see my little business grow. Thank you so much to everyone who has come through my door these past few months.

Recently however, between massage life and the start of summer with my son, there's been undercurrent of grief in my personal life. The world feels like its turning slower, and so, I've chosen to make some space to support my family at this time.

I have postponed all treatments this week, and will be taking some time this summer to be present at home. All existing clients have already been contacted. Thank you so much for your understanding, kind words and support.

Appointments will be rescheduled from September, when I'm happy to say I will be offering an extra few days a week for treatments. I'll be in touch with each of you soon to rebook x

For now, enjoy the rest of the summer. Lap up the sunshine (and the rest, cuz y'kno. England. ☔) Make time to be in the trees and the sea. MOVE your body and love every inch of it - it's got you this far, and it's gotta take you a long way yet.

And most importantly, those people you love? Yeah, hug them. Hug the hell out them. We're only here for a finite time.

About 10 months late to the party - but had my first ever online class, with the super wonderful .arc

Mannnnnn did my body need that. Shoulders feel more open than they have in weeks. Had a tonne of crunching + clunking going on back there, feel so much more space now. Discovered my glutes 🍑 are cryyyyyiiing for some tlc, + those spikey squishy balls on your feet are quite frankly, low key lil mini feetgasms. Seriously. Everyone - get some balls on your feet.

The movements are mega easy to follow + even just after one class my range of movement feels so much better throughout my hips, ankles + shoulders. Really reminded me how important it is to check back in with our bod. Self care is key right now.

If anyone's finding themselves feeling stiff, sluggish or just out of touch with their body - I'll be putting up some simple tips on how to self-massage soon 💫

See you next week .arc 🙌
