Here’s a little throwback to 2021 when I was invited onto Frome FM’s show by Eleanor Talbot to talk about my porcelain art ahead of Frome Art Trail 2021. These are some beautiful porcelain candle sleeves I created back in 2010 for @brucemunrostudio that are still on display at @thearchangelfrome in their back bar. This bar is a really historic building staring back to Domesday and first recorded as an Inn in 1311. The beautiful beams preserved in the barn-like bar would have originally been lit with candles anyway, although my porcelain alternative provides a fire-safe yet beautiful glowing means of delicately highlighting this beautiful ceiling. #porcelain #porcelainlights #archangelfrome #frome #fromeart #porcelaincandle #porcelainartist #historicbuilding #domesdaybook

Here is a little short video (9mins) showing my process to create porcelain artwork. Frome paper templates, through card, plaster of paris and finally to porcelain, the firing and a few examples of finished work. For what looks like a simple piece there is a great many stages to the process, and I have spent more hours than I care to admit experimenting with porcelain to find its qualities and playing around with it! Nevertheless, I love sharing these little video snippets about how my work comes to life.
