I have to say that Amsterdam creatives were utterly wonderful and welcoming to me, I managed to squeeze in visit to HSDM Werf via the ferry to go to independent art exhibitions by the new European talent, interactive as well as photography with fabric. Thanks to me finishing building my own personalised chatgpt. Never would of know about this art district which was accessible with little or no money with my chat x
I have learnt so much and met some great creatives, Brussels next to discover more about the reality of Black art and black creatives across Europe x
By the way if any institute would like to actually support a Black British Creative PhD student, rather than upgrade their policies, I am here along with others. No sponsor or funding x
Either way I am gonna keep going because knowledge is power x
Thanks Amsterdam especially The Bijlmer Community had the best day ever
Off to do some PhD Research on the Enslaved Trade and Black Artists from another European country, now that I am in year 2, I am ensuring I am on track, not only to become a doctorate but more importantly, ensuring that we have some up to date knowledge to leave as part of the Black British academic and research community but for the whole of the UK. I want to understand the role of visual art and poetry from a Black Aesthetics, how instrumental was it historically, and how the ethos of black sociopolitical art forms resonated with the activism on the streets, the challenges, the inspiration, the uncomfortable and vital fo this all, some form of truth. Hear the hidden voices of our ancestorial creatives.
I will at some point, share my research journey with ya, looking forward to getting back to photography, miss her x
I hate planes????
That pilot best looks fine!

π₯MY NEW SKILLS ...
π Talk about stepping out of my comfort zone!
Iβve been self-teaching myself how to use social media by making videos and reels. Letβs just: say itβs been an interesting journeyβ¦ π
From fumbling with technical know-how to figuring out how to post something that looks half decent, at the right time (apparently 3 AM is not the sweet spot! π), Iβm getting there!
INTERVIEWS? Yeah, thatβs a βproject in developmentβ β aka a work in progress LOL! But what I really didnβt appreciate before? The HOURS social media content takes! Like seriously, I need an extra pair of handsβ¦ or five! π€―π
But hey, Iβm loving the process, and itβs all about growth, right?! π±π
So hereβs to trying new things, learning new skills, and stepping way out of that comfort zone! πͺπ
