Hi all.
So here is another one that we got over the line just in time for the client to use it in this lovely sunny weather we are having, not. So it was a hand dig out on this one (again) in Templecombe this time for a lovely couple and there mum to enjoy. So out came 200/250mm of soil and back in went the Type 1 ( never use scalpings by the way) . So a charcoal edging was laid around the border to retain it all and then a washed sand 1mm to 3mm whacked in at 50mm (TF Plant & Skip Hire and then screeded off to the correct levels and then laid the inner bricks to finish, bit of a different idea for a patio area and the customers idea, but I feel it works well against the pond and well done on them. Thanks for looking
So after taking a week off and have a little break on the Isle of Man and watching the TT, it was back at it this week for a lovely client. So this time it was to take up some really badly laid cheap artificial grass and to lay some nice Sherborne Turf and a little concrete pad for the shed to go back on. So we ripped all the old fake grass up 1st off and then gave the whole area a good going over with a rotavator to break the hard ground up and help with the drainage. Then we levelled off over 7 tons of good topsoil from TF Plant & Skip Hire and walked in and then raked off to get a nice level garden, we then laid the turf on top, rolled in and to finish off with a good tidy up and leave the sprinkler on it for a few hours. Thanks for looking and please get in contact if you have any work that needs doing, be it fake grass, turf, patios, driveways or any landscaping you may want doing. This year is year is filling up nicely, so please get in contact and we can get you on the board. Thanks for looking
Hi everyone. So There’s another one over the line today and what some weather we had chucked at us. So from a muddy puddle bog when it rains and dogs getting dirty paws all the time , to a usable back garden and gravel area to fill with pots and flowers and to keep all those Bees happy and other wildlife. And all the sleepers were all sealed with primer and reused also. We are just a 2 man gang, so you get what you want and meet the guys who will do all your work for you and we keep you up to date as we go along on your projects. Also if you are taking on your own project at home and need any advice at all, then please feel free to ping me a pm and I will do my best to help. And cheers guys and was a pleasure to turn it around for you.
Evening all
Just a few pictures of some jobs we have finished over the past few weeks for some lovely customers and a few from a job for Newhouse Farm Partnership in Stourhead and please contact them for any large projects like septic tanks installations and major concrete works or Farm tracks. Did a little turf job in Gillingham, which got very wet, so we took off 100mm of tiled and soil and then put in some sharp sand and kept rotavating it all in as we went and then returfed. Job in Amesbury again for Newhouse Farm Partnership to extend a patio area and re tug the garden with a sleeper border. Then a little brick paving job in Gillingham for a couple who needed a bit more space to get there camper van in, so a little dig out with a kerb edging and brick paved finish. Then this week we finished a little dig out job for a gravel area and for some raised veggie beds and finished with an Apricot decorative gravel and as you can see in the pictures, was a little wet to start. Many thanks for looking guys and thank you again to my customers for giving me the chance to take on there projects.
Ok. So you all know I’m a bit partial to the odd slice of cake, but the Ugly Duckling cafe has knocked it out the water with these bad boys. Thank you Tanya Humphries
Never gets boring being asked to work here, National Trust Stourhead.
Hi all. So I havnt been going long as in my own company, but been doing this type of work nearly all my life and I’m loving it. Thank you to all my customers so far in my 1st 7 months of self employment and thank you for trusting me on your gardens and to those who we have booked in, can I just say I can’t wait to start your projects. Thank you everyone of you and please do get in touch if you see anything that you would like doing on your property and here is a few pictures of jobs we have completed so far. Many thanks and have a cracking weekend x
And there is another one finished this week and yes it’s not some people’s choice. But again being very busy in there jobs and the garden being very wet most of the year, then why not and the customers dog likes it, so that’s good. Thanks to TF Plant & Skip Hire. So nearly 15 tons of soil was hand dug and wheel borrowed out thru the garage door and into a roll on skip and soil was used again on another project also. Then the same again wheel borrowing in 15 tons of type 3 and then 4 tons of mendip dust. All finished and the doggo can enjoy dry/ clean feet.
Afternoon all. Ok this is not to everyone’s taste, but when you have a busy family and your kids want to play outside, but it’s all muddy and pouring down with rain all the time. Here is a great way to get over that with some artificial grass , this was a very tight access on this one and only just got a small mini digger in there, thank you Ian Marks for the digger hire. So with 3 wheel barrows and one man on them (David Evan’s thank you) we dug out 20 tons of soil on this one and the same had to go back in, thank you James Trevis. As you can see, it’s now a child friendly all year round play park for the little ones. Cheers guys
Always use local trusted trades please, been to look at a patio a company in Poole laid 6 months ago and it’s beyond shocking. Customer didn’t want pictures being taken or names mentioned and they will not answer emails or phone calls. Remember use local, cheers
Hi all. So I’m just getting this one over the line and what a transformation over the past 5 days. 20 tons of soil in, 8 tons of clean stone, thanks too TF Plant & Skip Hire and stone supplies for this and 70 metres of turf and also thanks to Sherborne Turf for the quick delivery and to Yeovil Fencing Centre for the sleepers etc and Toby Davies for doing the fencing. So from a wet bog to a usable garden. Thanks for looking
Wet was an understatement on this weeks new job. But after some good old hand digging and a rotovator to lift the grass parts it’s looking a 100 times better so far. More to come as we progress, cheers.
Hi everyone and I hope you all had a fantastic Easter and ate loads of chocolate. New project starts tomorrow and really looking forward to it and pictures as we move on thru the week. The calendar is looking good as we move on thru the spring and summer. So please if you are looking for a project later on in the year, then please give me a message and we can pop out and have a look and book you in. Few pictures of some jobs over the past few months. Thank you for looking
Always a pleasure working here,
Nice little artifical grass job in Gillingham these past couple of days. Not for everyone’s taste, but ideal for a small garden that doesn’t get much sun and can be used all year around, plus it was for the dog more than the customer, who supplied us with plenty of biscuits and coffees, cheers guys and was a pleasure.
Not in my comfort zone the past couple of days and decking is not my thing. But hey we gave it a go. Client needed us to raise the platform he already had installed a few years ago for his Yurt to sit on. So we followed what was there and put some 4x2s up rite to gain the height and treated decking on top and just a bit of to put around the edges to finish. Thanks for looking.
Well that was a slightly damp muddy day. Have a cracking weekend everyone.
Anyone?
Hi all. Another little job we have just finished in sunny Shaftesbury these past couple of days. A take up and relay on this one. Not sure who laid it before, but laying on mud is not a good idea and 70s dop and dab looks like it was the way forward on the other half. We kept it further away from the house also as it was very high on the damp course and was covering the air bricks also, again not good. So hoping it will get more air thru and the house can breathe at last. Thanks for looking
Just a little slabbing job we have done on a Monday for a fantastic customer.
Also this week a little refresh on a patio in Marnhull Marnhull Village Marnhull For You and a good power wash off, a few slabs had came loose, so we relayed them and gave it a final pointing in after. Again great clients and we were well looked after.
That’s another one finished for this week also. A tight access on this one and all dug over by hand and all soil and turf (Sherborne Turf) wheelbarrow in on this one and all rubbish taken away. Didn’t go to plan on the Monday and all the rain we had over nite didn’t help. So walked away and left to dry out and finished it off today and in time for the weekend. Thank you TF building supplies for the topsoil, Yeovil Fencing center for the sleepers and Sherborne Turf for the , yep Turf 😉. Have a good weekend one everyone.
Even if you want 1/2/3/4 or more slabs laid, we can still help you out as this little job shows in Sturminster Newton today, with a few slabs layed and a lovely little area for a few pots to go and a chair and table for those hot sunny evenings.
Just a couple little jobs to see us thru this last week and then a deserved break, till we go again. Please keep me in mind if you require any landscaping jobs doing in the New Year, also drainage, driveways and digger work you may need. The diary is filling up for the year ahead and thank you too those who have booked in for work. Happy Xmas everyone and Happy New Year
A few pics from the last job of the year and a few from earlier on
Good to get this one over the line before Xmas, again great clients and thanks Toby Davies for doing the fencing on top, finishes it all off a treat.
Bit of a sleeper retaining wall kind of week and to make the patio area bigger for the customer. Steel I beams a good 3 foot in the ground, which you can see was so dry, not, all sleepers given 2 coats of wood preserver and cladded using hot rollers into the the steels. Bit of back fill and we are done and let it settle down for a month or till the slabs need laying. Cheers
Hi everyone
A little job completed in Shaftesbury this week to make more room for vehicles to park and using the green stone that was on site as an edging. . . Thanks Hopkins stone supplies, Sampson construction for muck away and Dorset Hire for plant Hire and TF for the Cotswold stone dressing and of course cracking customers. Cheers
Evening everyone. Update on the the patio i have been doing for a lovely couple the past couple weeks or so and in some very trying weather. So as you can see from the pictures, it was a full take up of the old slabs. Put over a few metres of concrete to try and get the levels working better and for a good base to fix the awning too. So from 4 inches down to an inch in depth of concrete going down. And a nice Raj blend Indian sand stone patio layed, because of the height difference etc against the tarmac, we then used a raj blend cobble stone for the edging too work better and get the angles working better. Also a nice ramp up to the patio door for easy/no trip hazard access and a primer, so as no damp issues down the line. Thanks for looking and please give me a message if you are thinking of any work you may need doing in the New Year. 🥰
Just a small footing dug and concreted today in Shaftesbury and yes it had frostproofer in 👍. Please get in touch if you ever need footings etc done. Many thanks.
