We have been selling Christmas trees here for 17 years and can’t wait to have the place looking all festive again 🎅🏻

🚨‼️ ANNOUNCEMENT ‼️🚨

A bit of a serious post from us for a change…after a lot of discussions and weighing up of the situation, we have taken the difficult decision to close the shop temporarily.

We opened the farm shop just after lockdown to serve the local community and provide fresh fruit & veg and groceries that were a bit different from what you can get in supermarkets. It was a hobby at first, a lockdown/maternity project that we hoped could thrive for years to come. However, as we all know, the current climate we are living in makes everyday life more challenging for us all, never mind trying to run a successful small business.

No matter how fresh, good value or long lasting our produce is, we just can’t compete with supermarket prices at the moment. We have never raised our prices in the cost of living crisis despite rising supplier costs and we don’t want to start now so until the economy has recovered, we need to assess what’s important and what works best for us.

The most important element in all of this, is time. Between market trips, running the shop on a daily basis, deliveries, as well as our actual careers we both have, we have no time for any real quality of life. We also have a wonderful 1 year old wee boy, who we need to prioritise with our attention and be able to spend time together as a family.

All that being said, we are still going to provide our fresh box deliveries. Our last day open will be Thursday 9th February then following that, we will have Thursday delivery days, trialling add on products such as eggs, bread and cakes if the demand is there. This gives us the best of both worlds for a work/life balance, giving us our time back, while still being able to serve our loyal customers!

Shop will also be ‘seasonally’ open, so fear not, our Halloween event will still go ahead and we will still be open at Spring for bedding plants, Christmas for trees, hampers etc.

This has been such an amazing chapter of our lives and we are so proud of what we achieved and beyond grateful for the love & support from our customers, family and friends. Where we are a little sad about the decision, we are also very excited about this next step and what opportunities it will open up for us.
