☽ My heart is heavy. The people who influence us from a early age are carried with us in our hearts forever and this is most certainly the case with me and Viv. In high school I was obsessed with rebellion and fashion and all the ways we could use what we wear to make people think. Her art was never supposed to be pretty it was made to make us think and question everything we see around us and that thrilled my rebellious soul. I studied her for my Art Highers
and copied her iconic two cowboys design on the back of my school shirt in felt tip(you can imagine how that went down). When I moved onto study fashion and textile design in Uni
her influence was evident through every piece of work I put together. She was the matriarch of Punk and in her later years she demonstrated how Punk was not always "a phase we grew out of".
I don’t usually make too much off a fuss when famous people die but this one is different. Viv will live on in her designs and influence over the fashion world and in the hearts and minds of rebellious kids and the adults they turn into.

☾ THEY FINALLY ARRIVED!

The Royal Mail really did a number on me when posting these babies, to the point where I had to send a 2nd pair out (luckily I make spare parts for all my one of a kinds and was able to send out a 2nd pair of these beautiful customs) first pair are still missing in the mail! Luckily client was patient and so understanding and i really don't mind sending out a 2nd pair. I just get such a buzz someone wants to wear my quirky wee creations. 😍

These were custom made. Client wanted their own take on my teeny banana flowers. They turned out so cute!

(I made a really cool reel of these beauts before I sent them but then deleted the file off my phone during a mass delete 🙈 and well we are stuck with only a photo now)

So I'm still in my moon boot but update from the doctor my leg is now 80% healed. Prob be in the boot and crutches for another month yet. Who would have thought a broken bone takes so long to heal! Still its giving me plenty of time to get creative.

I’ve been off a lot recently but still major excited about my Saturday off.

I got some sad plates to show y’all today! These vases, plates and jugs have kept me sane this past month. Their tiny details have kept me busy and given me something to concentrate on.

I think now is a good time introduce myself so here goes -
I’m Shauna and I am so happy you all are here. Putting my work out there into the big wide world has been rather intimidating. I am 35 neurodivergent and use art as a form of mindfulness. I have lived so many different lives in my 35years and taken up so many different mediums to express myself but finding clay was a revelation.
I’ve studied and practiced art in so many different forms and my biggest dream as a kid was to be an artist. One day I would love to do this full time but for now my main gig is in banking!
I haven’t sold much since starting this project but it is no longer about that!
To me sadfuture is about being brave and following my obsessive mind into whichever rabbit hole it takes me down and if you’re here for that I’m grateful.

How is everyone’s Thursday going?

So update on the ‘sprained’ ankle…. It’s actually a broken leg. Urgh!

Spring is finally here though. Don’t you just love it? All the freshness. Everything feels renewed, like life is pouring into everything.

People in Glasgow always seem lighter in the sun. Happier. Friendlier. More inclined to smile.

And I’ve been stuck inside bingeing trashy day time thrillers and ordering take away. Full on hibernation mode as the city comes back to life outside my window.
It’s giving me what feels like a lifetime to create and make stuff.

Does anyone have any bingeworthy series to keep me entertained??

Scotland is having a mini heat wave and I am stuck inside with a gammy hip and sprained ankle.

Yup It’s all been very dramatic I went over on my ankle and have been trying to figure out how to walk on crutches since. Failing miserably!

Alas it’s not all bad. I ordered myself a McDonald’s and I’m blasting Rocky Horror.

Also I’ve been working on some juicy new translucent babies for spring but wanted to keep the grid kinda consistent. It’s taken me forever to finally assemble these and take pictures. So TADAAAAA more body positive VENUSes!
